Chapter 15: "The Kenyettas"

A person slowly comes out of the smashed vehicle and says only one dialogue :

"Long time no see Commander."

"Ohh for fuck's sake no-…."

Steven is startled as he hears the voice of the person who has just emerged from the vehicle.

As the rebels quickly surround the police car, they forcefully pull Steven out of the vehicle and push him into one of their own. Steven struggles, trying to break free from their grip, but the rebels overpower him.

"Come on, we don't have much time," one of the rebels says as they speed away from the station.

The chase begins as the rebels accelerate, their vehicles emitting a futuristic whirring sound. The Cyber Quantum Station's security alarms start swirling all round the place sending superfast signals to every car and station nearby and it's forces quickly pursue them, their own vehicles equipped with powerful engines and weapons.

The rebels expertly manoeuvre their vehicles, dodging and weaving through the crowded streets. The Cyber Quantum Station's vehicles follow closely behind, firing powerful lasers and rockets in an attempt to disable the rebels' cars but all in naught as the chaos on the streets makes it difficult for the officers to open fire.

The rebels, however, took advantage of this and they are also too quick and too skilled, evading the Cyber Quantum Station's attacks with ease. Steven looks on in awe as the rebels perform daring stunts and manoeuvres, their vehicles transforming and morphing into new forms.

As the rebels raced away with Steven, the Cyber Quantum Station quickly mobilised their forces. Patrol cars and drones were dispatched to chase after the rebel vehicles and quantum signals were used to accurately determine the rebel cars's position.

Inside the rebel car, Steven was both scared and confused. "What the hell is going on?" he shouted at the rebels.

"We're rescuing you, Commander," one of the rebels replied. "You're in danger."

"From who? The UPKF?" Steven asked, trying to make sense of the situation.

"From the PHR Pact," the rebel said grimly. "They want you dead."

As they continued to speed away from the Cyber Quantum Station, the rebels used every trick in their book to evade the pursuing forces. They weaved in and out of traffic, ducked into alleys and narrow streets, and even drove through a busy shopping centre to lose their tail.

Just as the rebel forces stepped into the Lithium Square people started running left and right and police cars were forced to stop as they could not just run their vehicles over the people.

The chase was intense and thrilling, with bullets whizzing past the rebels and explosions rocking the streets. Steven's heart was pounding in his chest as he clung to the backseat of the car, praying they would make it out alive.

"Can't you go any faster?" Steven shouted as they rounded a corner and narrowly avoided a missile strike from the aerial forces that were pursuing them.

"We're doing the best we can!" the rebel driver replied, his eyes focused on the road ahead.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the rebels managed to shake off their pursuers and disappear into the city's underground tunnels where the aerial deployment of the police forces could not trace them.

As they drove deeper into the tunnels, Steven finally caught his breath and looked at the rebels in disbelief. "Which rebel group do you guys belong to ?" he asked.

Here's an improved version:

"We're the Lithium Ae Independeco Si," the rebel leader said, his voice filled with pride.

Steven raised an eyebrow. "One of the two rebel groups in the Lithium Ero Zone? What good would it do for you to protect me?"

"We believe in a peaceful approach, Commander," the leader replied. "By protecting you, you will owe us a favor that we can use in the future for the betterment of the planet."

Steven scoffed. "Your methods to apprehend me don't seem so peaceful."

"Desperate times call for desperate measures, Commander," the leader said, his voice growing serious.

Steven rolled his eyes. "And what desperate times would you be having right now, may I know, sir?" he questioned sarcastically.

The rebel leader let out a deep sigh, "You may not see it, but this planet is on the brink of collapse. The PHR Pact and the UPKF are playing their little games while the planet suffers. We are fighting for a cause, a cause that will bring true peace and prosperity to all."

Steven raised an eyebrow, "And how exactly do you plan on achieving that?"

The rebel leader smiled wryly, "That's a discussion for another time, Commander. Right now, we need to get you out of here and away from the hands of those corrupt organisations."

Suddenly, the sound of sirens filled the air as the Cyber Quantum Station's security forces finally caught up to them. The rebel drivers floored the accelerator, and the chase was on.

Steven held on tight as the cars weaved through traffic, bullets flying past them as the security forces opened fire. The rebels expertly dodged the bullets, their vehicles equipped with advanced technology that allowed them to evade detection and outmanoeuvre their pursuers.

"Damn it, they're gaining on us!" one of the rebels shouted.

The leader turned to Steven, "We need your help, Commander. Use your knowledge of this city to help us escape."

Steven hesitated for a moment before nodding in agreement. He quickly began giving directions to the driver, guiding them through the city's back streets and alleys.

The chase was intense, with the police officers hot on the rebels' tail. The rebels' vehicles swerved and weaved through the streets, the sound of gunfire ringing out as they exchanged shots with the police.

One of the rebel cars had taken a hit, and its engine was sputtering as it tried to keep up with the others. The police cars were closing in fast, and it seemed like the rebels were doomed.

But then, one of the rebels activated a device on their dashboard, and suddenly the car's wheels transformed into hover jets, allowing them to fly over the police cars and leave them behind.

The chase continued in the air, with the rebels firing their weapons and the police cars on the ground with the support of their aerial forces doing their best to avoid the gunfire. One of the police cars took a hit, and its engine exploded, sending it careening out of control and crashing into a nearby building.

As the chase continued, the rebels' vehicles started to fall apart under the strain. One of them lost a wheel, causing it to swerve wildly and almost crash. Another took a hit to its fuel tank, and a trail of flames followed it as it struggled to keep going.

Eventually, the rebels managed to lose their pursuers and pulled into an abandoned warehouse. They quickly ushered Steven inside, their weapons still at the ready in case any police officers had managed to follow them.

As they caught their breath, the rebel leader turned to Steven, "You may not believe in our cause, but we believe in you, Commander. And we will do whatever it takes to ensure that you are safe."

"Keep spouting peeps. Imma close my eyes and rest for a while," Steven said, sounding tired and drained from the intense events of the day.

Meanwhile People POV :

As the news broke out about Steven's arrest and subsequent kidnapping by a rebel group, the public couldn't stop gossiping about it. The headline published by 'Lithium Ero Times' had taken the city by storm, and everyone had an opinion on it.

In a nearby coffee shop, a group of people were huddled around a table, discussing the news in hushed tones.

"Can you believe it? Steven arrested and kidnapped by rebels?" exclaimed a middle-aged man, his eyes wide with shock.

"I always knew he was up to no good," said a woman with a sneer.

"But the rebels? Why would they kidnap him?" asked a young man, looking puzzled.

"Maybe they want to use him as leverage against the government," suggested another man.

A group of teenagers at a nearby table was also discussing the news, but their conversation was more animated.

"Did you see the video of the rebels crashing into the station? It was epic!" exclaimed a boy with a grin.

"I heard they had shields on their car windows that deflected bullets!" said a girl, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

"I wonder what Steven did to make them go to such lengths to rescue him," mused another boy.

Meanwhile, on the streets, people were stopping each other to discuss the news. The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and speculation, and everyone was eager to find out what would happen next.

Meanwhile in The Main Hall of The Kenyetta Family :

The main hall of the Kenyetta family was filled with tense energy as the family members gathered to discuss the recent events. Mr. Kenyetta, the patriarch of the family, stood at the head of the long wooden table, his face contorted with anger.

"How could he do this to us? How could Steven be so foolish as to get himself kidnapped by rebels? The Lithium Ero Times is having a field day with this, and it's all because of him!" he bellowed.

The other family members nodded in agreement, their faces equally angry and frustrated. "It's a disgrace to the family name," one of them muttered under their breath.

"We've worked too hard to build up our reputation and now it's all being torn down because of Steven's recklessness," Mr. Kenyetta continued, his voice rising in anger. "We need to do something to salvage what's left of our good name."

"What do you suggest, Father?" asked one of the younger Kenyettas.

"We need to distance ourselves from Steven and his actions," Mr. Kenyetta replied firmly. "We cannot let his mistakes tarnish our reputation any further. And we need to do it quickly before the damage becomes irreparable.

The room fell silent, the weight of Jeremiah's words settling heavily upon everyone.

But one family member spoke up, a note of hesitation in her voice.

"Father, what if...what if Steven didn't do this willingly? What if he was taken against his will?"

Jeremiah turned to face her, his expression darkening.

"That is no excuse," he said, his voice cold and uncompromising. "He should have been more careful. He should have known better than to put himself in that kind of situation."

The family member nodded, cowed by Jeremiah's anger.

"But what if he's in danger?" she pressed. "Shouldn't we do something to help him?"

Jeremiah sighed heavily, his anger giving way to weariness.

"Fine," he said. "We'll look into it. But make no mistake, Steven must answer for his actions."
