The thought had just arrived inside his mind when he shook it away. In any case, whoever that girl was and whatever was after her, was none of his business.

Yang Chen was just about to turn his head around, when suddenly from the corner of his eyes he saw an item fallen on the ground.

Bending over, he picked the item in between his fingers when he realised that it was a hairpin. The hairpin was made of some exquisite jade and had a blue phoenix was carved on it.

When his eyes were drawn into that phoenix, he sensed some kind of peculiar energy being released by the hairpin. What's more, when that energy came in contact with his fingers, he could feel stabbing pain being transmitted over.

"An artefact!!" His eyes immediately shone with a lustre.

Why would it not? After all, the hairpin that he found was no ordinary item, but an artefact. Artefacts are items which are inscribed by an inscription master and possess unique properties.
