I wrinkled my nose, not at all impressed with his sense of humor. I would sleep all day and all night if I could, and the man knew it. "How are you feeling?" he continued, not minding my silence.

"Good," I replied with a smile. And I was feeling fantastic. "But why didn't—" I started to ask, but I trailed off midsentence, not sure how to keep going.

"But why didn't I join in on the fun?" he asked with a gentle smile on his face. "Remember, even if you don't say it out loud, I can still hear it."
