LEILANI’S POV

I can’t believe my father; he was willing to sacrifice my happiness for his internal peace. As much as I love Williams Corp, there’s no way that I can make that big of a sacrifice. If I settle now and cave to my father’s wishes that just gave him leverage to do it again and again until I’m molded into whoever he wanted me to be.

I never thought I would turn my back on my dream, but maybe Kendra was right. I was dreaming a little too big.

I wiped the small tear that seemed to escape my right eye. I rarely cried and I wasn’t going to make today one of those rare occasions either. He didn’t deserve my tears, nor did he deserve for me to even consider his idiotic proposition.
