LEILANI’S POV

Tonight was not supposed to go as well as it did. I wanted another reason to hate him, to dislike him despite everything that Kendra said. She wanted my hatred to go toward my father and some of it did, but I couldn’t fight the nagging feeling that I should hate Ares too.

He was too good to be true. He was proving to be witty, funny, and to my delight not under Christina’s spell. Not to mention he’s handsome, successful, smart, and unlike my father, very keen on businesswomen.

“So, how did you get roped into this dramatic relationship with Christina anyway?” I asked.

We had eaten at the bowling alley before getting into my car for me to drive us back to my house. Since we ended the game with a tie, we settled on me paying for the food since he paid for bowling.
