ARES’S POV

Leilani. Her name was like a spell that remained on repeat in my head. I kept repeating it to myself as if I’d forgotten it. I had waited patiently for it and now that I had it, I wanted to keep saying it and hearing it. I had tried several names for her and none of them seemed right. I knew she’d have a beautiful name to match her face but knowing her real name put everything else to shame.

Christina continued to talk about a topic I was paying no attention to. My mind was still on her, on that gorgeous woman who sat a couple of tables away from me. Timothy’s hand rested on the back of her chair as she leaned closer to him while he spoke to her. What the hell were they talking about? What did he possibly have to say to her for her to be that close to him?
