Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Little Firecracker

ARES’S POV

It was only a matter of time before Fredrick called me begging to accept my deal and telling me how generous I was for creating such an offer. I had expected an earlier call, but a man of pride would never immediately give in. He had to make it seem like he was pondering my offer, making me think that he had other prospects and better offers. It was a tactic to not make himself look too desperate.

In reality, the offer was good, but I was willing to bid higher if that’s what he wanted, but his silence proves that he was impressed by the deal. Carlos had done a fantastic job with the draft, all I had to do was add my interest in owning the company and vowed that I would take it to bigger and better heights.

“Ma’am, you can’t just barge in. Do you know whose office this is?” Carlos’s voice rang from the other side of my office door.

Before I could question anything further the door slammed open, and the most gorgeous woman walked in. I had seen my fair share of beautiful women, but she was different, her beauty was raw.

She wore a navy dress, it was supposed to be knee length but with her thick thighs and most likely equally large a*s the dress was considerably short. It also didn’t help that her large breasts took up a majority of the fabric at the top of the dress.

“Who the f*ck do you think you are? You think that you can just throw money at anyone and they’ll just flock to your command?” the woman seethed.

I was taken aback by her sudden outburst, but curiosity won me over. I had to know who this woman was and why she was so quick to insult me. How was she this confident to barge into my office and insult me?

If things were my way, she’d be on her knees, and I’d punish her mouth for daring to say such things to me. Though as disrespectful as it was, I couldn’t help the jolt of excitement that had escalated to my pants. Who was this woman?

“I’m afraid I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

My answer only seemed to infuriate her more, as her cheeks began to redden. She looked adorable, like an angry tomato threatening me with her wrath.

“Now you want to play dumb. You offered money to buy out his company, does that ring a bell?” she asked.

Her arms were on her hips and her eyes narrowed on me. Normally, I would call security, but I wanted to know who her father was. I sent offers to many men over the weeks wanting to buy their companies and making a far larger profit than what I spent on taking their companies.

“Do you know how many offers he makes a day? Your father isn’t anyone special,” Carlos snapped.

I chuckled under my breath at his response. Carlos was by no means a tough guy, but watching him attempt a persona out of his character was comical.

“You think this is funny? You think stealing what my father and grandfather built is a joke?” the woman spat.

“As my assistant said, your father isn’t the only man who’s received an offer from me,” I said, shrugging my shoulders.

Her hands moved from her hips to cross over her breast. The action did nothing to help me focus on whatever it was she wanted to talk about. Her folded arms over her chest only seemed to push her breasts higher.

“That’s more proof that you don’t deserve my father’s company. All you want is to tear it down and make it some playhouse for your stupid fantasies. I’m his only daughter, that company is all he’ll have for a legacy,” she explained.

Her dark green eyes caught my own, she was pleading with me despite the cold exterior that she presented. The company most likely meant more to her than it did her father.

“Carlos, give me a moment alone with Miss…” I let my sentence trail off.

“Williams. Miss Williams.”

The smile faded from my face as I realized why she was in my office. Carlos had said that Fredrick didn’t have a son, but he didn’t say anything about having a daughter. No wonder Fredrick refused to talk about his family, he had a gem like this for a daughter.

Carlos was reluctant to obey my request, but he didn’t have much of a choice. I was his employer and if I excused him from my office then it was a part of his job description to excuse himself from my office. Carlos grabbed the door handle before hesitantly closing it behind himself.

“You’re Fredrick Williams’s daughter?” I asked.

I tried my best at containing my shock, but I’m not sure how convincing I sounded. I wasn’t just shocked that Fredrick had a daughter, but I was shocked that she had enough balls to walk into my office. She was different from any other woman that I had met. Normally, women in our class were raised to hold their tongues, but this woman right here was a firecracker.

“Surprised?” She quirked an eyebrow.

She had countered my question and she had caught on to my shock. I hadn’t dug deep enough into Fredrick’s life which is why I was shocked to discover that he had a daughter. Even still, why retire and claim you have no successor? That usually referred to men without children or men whose children had no desire in business. This seemed like neither case.

“Are you upset that I want to buy your father’s company or that I’ll destroy it once he sells to me?” I asked.

My reputation doesn’t proceed me. Everyone knows that I have a fetish for buying companies and rebuilding them with a bigger and better brand – my brand.

“Tell my father you had time to think it over and you’d rather not buy something he isn’t selling. I’m the next CEO of Williams Corp and there is no need for your petty change.”

Her words were assertive and that seemed to only turn me on more. I was always the dominating figure in a room and here stood a woman barely over five foot five and asserting her dominance. What little dominance she had.

“What makes you sure that I’ll do it?” I asked, amused by her boldness.

“I will ruin your life if you don’t.”

With her final words, she turned and exited my office, slamming the door shut behind her. She was sure to make an entrance and an exit to match. She had waged war and she didn’t even know who she was up against.

I had been the youngest of two brothers and frankly, I’m the only one who didn’t start as a complete f*ck up. Being the youngest for sure had its perks. I never lost. Whether my brothers let me win or they lost fair and square, I didn’t like to lose, therefore, I never did.

My little firecracker would learn soon enough my father didn’t name me Ares just because he liked the name. I was named Ares because he knew that I would somehow become his fiercest son.

I sat behind my desk and began searching for anything that I could find on Fredrick Williams’s daughter, this was all that I could do until I found her name. She was careful to leave out that information. She was already one step ahead of me.

She knew my name, my company, and my face, and all I had left of her was the memory.
