Chapter 249: The Relic

Madelyn was swiftly led out by security. To anyone watching, she seemed cool and collected, but inside, she was freaking out. Her ego was totally bruised.

As she was walking down the hallway, she bumped into Henry, who just stepped out from a big meeting. Seeing her being rushed out by security, Henry stopped her, "What's up?"

Madelyn stopped. Her lips shook a bit, and her eyes started to water. She said, sounding really sad, "Uncle Henry, I... I..."

She couldn't say anything else. She'd been caught trying to cause trouble between Alicia and Louis, which was totally embarrassing. Henry, being older and smarter, probably knew what she was up to.

Henry told the security guy to leave and then said, seriously, "Maddie, you gotta stop chasing after Louis. After what happened with Asher, you don't stand a chance."

Madelyn's eyes got watery as she said, "That wasn't my fault. I got hurt too..."
