Chapter 127: Remarrying

Louis and Alicia went into the courthouse, their second visit. There were fewer couples getting divorced this time—only one pair was filling out paperwork.

Since Henry had already given them a heads up, everything went quickly.

Alicia handed over her ID and the divorce agreement. She had made Louis sign a new one that morning.

A clerk took the papers and scanned the ID, then asked, "Are you sure you've thought this through?"

"Yes, we have," Alicia replied.

The clerk looked at the divorce agreement and said, "We'll need to retype this."

"Why?" Alicia asked.

"We have to use our own paper for the record, and your wording isn't standard. We'll need to reformat it for you."
