Rage is something I'm quite fond of.
Although I don't let others see the extent of my rage often, there are still times I slip up and let my rage show on my face and in the qi I gradually exude.
My rage is the culmination of all the things I've seen go wrong in the world. All the atrocities committed by mankind; all the crimes committed by beings not even considered human.
But right now, my rage isn't burning because of those things. Right now, my rage is directed at my Hyung-Nim that betrayed the Mount Song Sect, Baek Tae-Yeon.
But rage being seen from a perspective not your own is frightening, especially when the one who sees it can do nothing to escape the rage before them.
The spy moved not even an inch, rather, he dared not to move even an inch once he saw the rage on my face. All he had done was say the Namgung clan leader's name, so why was his torturer showing such rage?
Although he was terrified by the rage being shown, there was one upside to his current situation. In a single moment, his torturer was blinded by rage and cracked his sword when slamming it into the boulder behind him. And without his sword, there wouldn't be any more holes made in his arm.
However, that couldn't be further from the truth. With the rage within his heart still evident on his face, his torturer walked toward a light in the distance, which was most likely the entrance to the cave he was in.
Maybe since the torturer now knew who the Namgung clan leader was, he would give up on torturing him and let him escape.
But regardless of whatever the spy thought would happen, he couldn't be more wrong.
I returned to the cave a few moments later, with a torch and Pyo Kang's sword in each of my hands, as well as a hardened clay urn hanging over my shoulder. Even if the spy told me everything there was to know in the world, I would still kill him in the end just for being a member of the Namgung clan.
When the spy saw me walking back toward him with a new sword in my hand, the only thing he felt was despair. His chances of escaping death were essentially zero, and even if he escaped death, he would be a cripple that Isn't useful to anyone.
As I arrived at the boulder that the spy was tied up to, I unsheathed Pyo Kang's sword and set it on the ground. If the spy thought making holes in his arm was the worst I could do, he's going to be quite surprised by my next torture method.
I tossed the urn off my shoulder and removed the cork which held the liquid inside without it spilling. The stench of the weird liquid inside was just as foul as the stench of blood within the cave, but once I poured the liquid onto Pyo Kang's sword, the spy instantly knew what it was.
It was animal fat, a highly flammable liquid used to make candles and torches stay lit for long periods of time. After I coated the entire sword-edge with the animal fat, I placed the torch's flame on the sword and let the fat catch fire.
I didn't need any more information from this lowly Namgung clan spy, he likely didn't have any other information that I could use. So, it was time to torture just for the sake of torturing, my favorite kind of torture.
Before the spy could attempt to persuade me to not torture him anymore, I swiftly pressed his pressure points and stopped him from speaking.
"You endured a regular sword making holes in your arm, now let's see you endure the flames as well."
I slowly pushed the flaming sword into the spy's right shoulder, causing his clothes and skin to catch fire as I slowly twisted it and shredded his muscles, nerves, veins, arteries, and bone.
This time however, the spy couldn't withstand the pain coursing through his body, his mind gave into the pain and put his body to sleep to try and ignore the searing pain.
"Damn, it looks like you couldn't withstand it. Torture is no fun if the person you're torturing isn't awake. I guess I'll just put you out of your misery now."
I removed the flaming sword from the unconscious spy's shoulder and swiftly beheaded him. Leaving traces of flames on his severed head and neck.
I didn't have time to waste on burying a dead corpse, the flames would burn his body to a crisp anyways. I used my internal energy to put out the flames on Pyo Kang's sword before picking up his sheath and sliding it onto the sword.
"First, they kill Jinlong, then they kill an innocent Imoogi. And now I find out a Mount Song Sect disciple is leading them? There isn't going to be a future for the Namgung clan once I'm done with them."
As I walked out of the cave, Pyo Kang and Pyo Yong walked up beside me and questioned what had happened.
"Ryu Il, why did you have to borrow my sword to torture him when you had your own?"
"And why did you need the urn of animal fat? That was going to be used to keep the fires at night burning." Pyo Yong chimed in after Pyo Kang finished speaking.
I slowed my speed down to a stop and dug the end of Pyo Kang's sword into the ground before speaking.
"My sword broke while torturing him for information, and I needed some flames to get him to speak. And it is thanks to Pyo Kang's sword and the animal fat urn that I know who is leading our enemy."
The twins looked at me a confused gaze while asking, "Who is leading the Namgung clan?"
"Someone who used to be in the Mount Song Sect, he's someone who has reached the Golden Core Stage, so he's far more powerful than even the strongest beings in Jianghu."
