Chapter 24: Life In Forest

"Little boy, you can't stay here. You are the only successor to the duke. I am sure they will look for you."

She said gently. She was right. Before Killian said if he was not the only successor, the duke would have killed Henry a long time ago.

Henry flinched and realised she was right. It was not something simple.

But if he needed a successor, then why did he kill Ricarda and let him die too? What does that mean? Doesn't that mean he was not worried about that? But it happened when he was 18 years old. So when he was 18, did the duke already find a solution for it? Did he perhaps find someone to replace Henry?

"He doesn't want me. He tried to kill me once. That's why I asked Ricarda to bring me with her."
