Rhia watched her mother debate the marchioness' offer before opening her mouth to reply.

"I appreciate the offer, but can we rain check? Right now, I want to get my baby home and calm down. But I do appreciate you coming. Without you here, I'm afraid of what might've happened."

The baroness hated feeling helpless and weak. She wished she had the power to fight back, but House Pendragon was an unbeatable iron fortress that ruled over Dragonite City.

Despite their noble title, House Night barely had any influence in high society.

Her husband may have allied himself with a few essential nobles, but their powers were useless against House Pendragon.
