Chapter 34: 34. We want you

The scent of flowers woke me up early in the morning. Fresh burgundy roses in a red ceramic vase were on my bedside table.

I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh at Kai's pathetic attempt at redemption. What did he want me to do with the roses?

Eat them? I wanted freedom and if he wouldn't give me that, then we had nothing more to talk about. 

I grabbed the vase and carried it in my hands to the balcony. In one swift motion, I threw it on the ground and watched as it broke into tiny pieces.

That will show him I can't be bought with something as trivial as roses. 

I had yet to see Zeus. If I didn't know any better, I would say that he was angry at me. I knew he was angry about my stunt but I was angry at him too.

I showered, got dressed and started reading Alexander's diary again. It was all I could do in that castle.
