Chapter 7: The Backstory Of An Unfortunate Druid
Shina shook her head as she saw determination of Dravid who was uncompromising on this matter.
She slowly stretched out her hand and a blaze scar which was in dragon shape was revealed.
Dravid was taken aback and observed the scar.
"This is the result of going against big families in the city. Do you still want to go against them?"
She scanned the facial expression of Dravid who seemed to has lost in the thought.
" Why did they do that to you?"
Dravid had questioning look on his face.
Sigh!
Shina sighed softly and hided the scar.
"I am Shina Selester. I come from a half druid family in distant village which used to serve the purpose of nature,"
"We were a happy family, i used to play outside all day long without caring about anything in the forest,"
"But one day, my mother got pregnant and everyone in the family celebrated. Later, in that evening, the village chief came with a ominous news in the village. A deity has issued an order to sacrifice a girl with mage potential,"
"In exchange of that, the deity would provide protection and wealth to the whole village.The village chief greed was revealed in front of my family, he measured the potential of every girl below the age of seventeen,"
"Three girls including me were found to have the mage potential. Later, after keen observation, i had purest bloodline of a druid in the whole village. The village chief used the crowd policy to isolate my family from the village because my father refused sending myself to wolf's den,"
Shina thought about her family as she spoke having a happy expression on her face.
"My father announced that we would move into another far away place. But, the son of village chief manipulated me into playing game in the forest on that day and i was forcefully taken away."
Shina's innocent and happy face turned into hatred filled expression as she remembered that smile on the son of village chief.
" Due to his mana connection, my father sensed that something was wrong and discovered me unconscious at the residence of the village chief.In anger, he directly smashed the head of all the guards there and rescued me,"
"We were on our way after my father took my mother and informed his brother that we were leaving the village."
"But my uncle in greed of getting some validation and money from the village chief informed the whole village. The village chief directly announced my family as village traitor and chased us."
Her white teeth gnashed in fury.
"On our way, we were interrupted by the village people but my father was an excellent attacker while my mother provided him healing. At last, my father defeated all the mages."
Then a scared and helpless expression appeared on her face.
"A man in black attire descended from the sky and used a spell which directly annihilated the both legs of my father. My mother's healing was corroded by his dark magic, and my brother in her stomach was corrupted with the power."
Now even Dravid trembled in his heart imagining the power of that terrifying mage.
"But my father didn't give up and picked up the ordinary sword from the ground and fought with mage's skeletons. He ordered us to go for the safety while he faced the that evil mage who called himself a deity."
"My mother and I fled in hurry as she used her strongest technique and were teleported to the city. On the way, my mother saw my father fighting without his head as he delayed for the time."
"After we entered the safe gate of the city, my father finally let go of his sword and fell on the ground. The mage was still angry but he couldn't do anything to us in the city."
Tears came out of her eyes as she remembered the fight of her father and the evil mage.
Dravid didn't say anything but let her out the emotions she has been holding for so long.
After some time, she wiped her tears and continued her backstory.
"The teleportation caused my mother sever injuries. After she gave birth to my brother, her health deteriorated day by day. I participated in the guild quests to buy medicine for her and my mother but with tiny money, i couldn't save her as she took her last breath murmuring my father's name."
There was a silence for some time as the cold wind blew caressing the face of Shina as if nature comforted it's lovely daughter.
"I earned lot of money to buy medicines for my brother and enrolled myself in academy. Due to my talent, i became thorn in the eyes of geniuses of big families who always bullied me. That blonde boy is friend of Caesar who proposed me due to my talent but i rejected him since i felt he had bad intentions."
" He never forgot about it, and felt humiliated.One day his uncle, who was also a teacher at the academy, used his fire elemental power to punish me for being late for a short time. "
The big scar which still had some fire particles left was so painful for her in the night that she wished to die but due to her brother, she couldn't.
"I reported this to headmaster but she shrugged it off and the Jonathan family conspired to kill me many times so i always cover my face."
"I can die but what will happen to my little brother? Thinking of this, i have to live as this fire slowly burns my vitality."
She had a determined look on her face as she remembered all the things including today's accident.
"Thank you very much! But now you should go!They can find me anytime so hurry up!"
Dravid stared at her beautiful face with white hair flowing down like a gentle waterfall as a smile which was filled with gratitude and a bit of silver tears in her eyes, he couldn't say anything.
He took a step ahead.
