Arlan returned to Honeysuckle Palace with the thought of finally joining his wife in bed after a long, busy day. To his surprise, she wasn't in her bedchamber but in her study. She was sitting behind the desk, her eyes fixed on the sword laid out before her, her fingers tracing the intricate carvings on its handle.

"Seems like you fancy a sword," Arlan remarked as he entered the dimly lit room.

Oriana looked up, her eyes meeting his. "I'm not sure, but I feel connected to this one."

Arlan approached the desk and picked up the sword, the same one Luis Mortimer had gifted him a few days prior. "It's something that belongs to your family, so it's natural for you to feel connected to it."

She leaned back in her chair, a contemplative expression on her face. "It made me want to learn how to use a sword."

"Is that why you had Rafal teach you this afternoon?" he asked.

"When he brought this sword to me, I couldn't help it," she admitted.
