Oriana was lost.
She continued to walk through the dimly lit hallways, but after avoiding a couple of patrolling guards, she realized that she could no longer hear the music from the ballroom. What confused her even more was that she could not find the parlors or even backtrack where she came from.
'What the hell? I think I passed this same hallway twice already. This place isn't even as big as the Palace of Thistle,' she could not help but grumble. 'How can I go back now? Will I be punished severely to get caught like this and they might think I am a spy?'
The more she imagined the punishment that awaited her, the greater her panic was.
The corridors on this side of the mansion were fairly quiet, and only the sounds of her footsteps could be barely heard over her beating heart. It was easy for her to hide herself—no, in fact, there was no need to hide because there was not a single soul in sight.
