Chapter 56: WE MEET.. AGAIN!

School resumed and the Jordans had to split to their various schools. They were sad that they were not going to see each other for a while but they were happy to be off chores in the house - especially Michael.

As he got back to school, he was told that one of their lecturers had been sacked and another was in place. Everyone was talking about the new older woman that looked extremely beautiful and way below her years. Some even said she could be passed as a student.

The second day of resumption, he had her class and his friends hurried him as he prepared to leave for class so that they could choose the perfect spot where they could see this new lecturer of theirs. He was not interested in their excitement and was not as thrilled as his friends and this brought irritation to his friends.

"I wonder when fixing a belt takes up to two hours," said Conrad, one of Michael's friends.

"Let me guess, you stayed up all night gaming" said Tyler, his roommate.

"Yes!" he answered and the boys slapped their palms on their foreheads.

"How addicted are you bro. I am also a gamer but I do not go all the way like that. You are ruining your health" Conrad advised.

He could not possibly tell his friends that he was just studying technology for technology's sake because he was already a technologist and added to that, he was a trailblazer - one who helps in the creation or invention of new machines and weapons. There is a new project Lord Nathan is onto and he has asked for the brightest minds to bring opinions. Whoever has the best idea to tackle the problem would be automatically promoted to the level of a supervisor and would be in charge of revising everything that would go on to make that project come to life. He wanted to impress his future brother in law but he must never let Martha know he thought that.

They believed that the reason he was up, most at times in the night, was because he was an addict gamer. He felt like welcoming them to his world - the world where crime is tackled by typing away on a computer. A world where a missile could bring down a building project that had been going ok for years, in one second and a world where a building project can be finished faster than the time required, with the right machinery in place.

"I am done!"

"Finally! If anyone gets my spot because of you, it is over between us" said Conrad.

"Dude, just chill out!"

"Why don't you freeze in? You staying there not knowing the importance of this class is most baffling"

"You talk like you are truly interested in the class"

"Of course I am"

"But more in the new lecturer bro"

"Whatever!"

"You claim to know so much about this course but I bet you did not know it is a borrowed course and not originally ours. The rumour that a lecturer was sacked is gibberish. This course is optional but most students have converted it to compulsory because of.."

"Now you sound like a lecturer. Please do not lecture me and kindly get off my back"

"With unreserved pleasure!"

When they got to the class, the front seats were jammed, Conrad's spot was taken and they were forced to move to the back.

"You owe me lunch!" Conrad said and Michael rolled his eyes. This boy makes him talk longer than he ever intends. They got seats and they sat down and brought out the materials needed for the lecture.

The clicking of heels were soon heard as someone entered and there were whispers and hushes amongst the children. Michael, who was on his laptop, did not bother to check who had entered as he was reading an article related to his research. Conrad tapped his hand for him to look at who had just entered but he jabbed Conrad lightly with his elbow and scrolled down to the next page of his article.

"Good day class!" said the lecturer that just entered the class and the class simultaneously responded "good day ma", especially the boys, as they swooned at their lecturer.

Michael stopped scrolling and decided to look up to see who was speaking. He knew someone who had similar voice with the person that just greeted his class. But it could not be! He has not heard from her for like forever and she has been almost untraceable, breaking his heart even further and despite the gun he had over the holiday, he had nursed his bleeding heart alone.

"Not practically 'alone' because Martha had discovered and had done what only Martha could do. As he lifted his face from his laptop, the lecturer announced her name.

"My name is Samantha Klaus and I am your Social Skills lecturer" Samantha said and the whole class began to applaud her.

There she was, his Samantha and he could not reach her or uncork the bottle of emotions he had tried so hard to press deep down. She was in an army green straight gown that stopped after her knees. She wore a pair of black cover shoes that her feet were very comfortable in. Her hair was shorter than what Michael could remember and was a little curly. She looked as ravishing and positively eccentric as ever.

The loudest boy in the class, known for his unseriousness and uncultured way of speaking - Andrew Darrien - thought it wise at that point to make a snarky and nasty comment about her, to the hearing of the whole class as he chewed gum in the mannerless way neer known.

"You look sexy in that skirt Miss Samantha, I hope you wouldn't mind a little bend over on one of 'em firm chairs. I promise you that would be social enough!"

The class erupted in laughter and Andrew Darrien shook hands with his seat mate who was a boy and they hit shoulders together.

Michael balled his fists under the desk as he thought of five different punishments he could pass the bastard through in that second.

Samantha came out from behind the table and folded her hands before her as she regarded the class with her eyes. A wicked smile crept up her lips as the laughter quietly died.

"What is your name, young boy!" Samantha asked, focusing her gaze on Andrew.

"I'm Andrew…Andrew Darrien!" Andrew said, rather too confidently.

"Andrew Darrien! Andrew Darrien! That's an interesting name and I must say you made smooth talk right there but it would be smoother if you remember that I am the lecturer in this class. In as much as this class is optional, signing for it would boost your grades and getting good marks would leave you smiling after this semester. As the lecturer over this, it means I have the authority on what goes on here - whether you are given a nice report or not. It would do you a load of good to remember this as that authority is something you do not have. Is my message passed?"

"Yes ma!" Andrew said in a more humble tone. His confidence, crippled!

"That's my girl!" Michael said within himself.

"Good, now let's go on with something else. I would like to know how many students on the class list are present in my first class. Please answer when you are called." Samantha said.

"Lyra Tabia!"

"In Class"

"Simeon Wells"

"Right here" Samantha smiled.

"Conrad Lewis"

Excitement did not allow Conrad to answer to his name the first time. He did not know what to say.

"Conrad Lewis?"

"I'm…I'm here" he replied and most persons in the class chuckled.

"Michael Jor…Michael Jordan '' Samantha called and three her head up fast. She hoped it was not the one she knew. She hoped it was not the person that had made her hibernate herself and child for a while because she hated the way she had no control over her feelings. Like a teenage girl, he had almost slept with her on his family's sitting room couch. Why? Because she spread her legs wide for him

She was sure the sister who walked in on them termed her as "shameless", even though she had later come to apologize.

"Here!" Michael answered as he looked directly at her until her eyes found him at the back row.

Some girls began to whisper among themselves as they gushed over Michael.

"I never knew he attended school today. I would make sure to greet him after the class" one said.

"Just look at that composure, suave and manliness he carries. When he gets to the age of Michael B. Jordan - the actor - the world would be at his feet and I hope I am the one leading" another said as she intertwined her fingers on the desk and snuggled close to it, squinting her eyes in a future she would never have. Samantha had heard them and called the foolish girls who were just experiencing a rush of emotions. She made a vow to avoid him at all cost and prayed that nothing would bring them fifty metres close to each other.

"Al…Alright, on to the next person. Raven Jewels.…" Samantha continued. By the time she was done calling the names of close to a hundred students, she knew that she was in for some work

She agreed that lecturing in itself, is far from being a child's play.

"If you all took note, this course has never been taught in the history of this institution" Samnatha said and some persons nodded their heads in the affirmative.

"It is because, it was discovered that most technologists and people that might fall into the line of trailblazers, usually isolate themselves from the world. They give ninety percent to their computers and the internet and about seven percent to people. The remaining three percent goes to whatever hobby they love to do, after their heads are filled with codes and calculations. Now, this is where I come in, I help balance the equation and help you turn out to be a person that people do not just call for jobs, but a person people would like to hold conversations with" Samantha said and the whole class clapped at what seemed to be her introductory lecture.

Even Andre Darrien clapped - genuinely!
