Chapter 4: The Betrayal
As Lan Su made his way back home with the powerful scroll in hand, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was not right. He felt like he was being followed.
Suddenly, a group of masked figures appeared out of nowhere and attacked him. Lan Su fought valiantly but was outnumbered and overpowered.
The figures revealed themselves to be members of a rival clan who had been searching for the same scroll. They had been following Lan Su all along, waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.
Lan Su realized too late that he had been betrayed by someone close to him - someone who had leaked information about his mission to their enemies.
Beaten and bruised, Lan Su managed to escape with his life but lost the precious scroll in the process. He knew that this betrayal would have consequences and vowed to find out who was responsible for it...
