Chapter 2: Chapter #1
I guess you could say it all started in October, that's when she got her first one, But I think it started before that. Let's go back to the first day, that's when it began for me.
It was senior year at Vanguard High, I wasn't really worried about it, I already had almost perfect grades (Economy is annoying) and I was already attending online college courses. Everything was perfect, I was set to go to the college of my dreams and my best friend was going with me.
"Soooo, how was your summer? Get a girlfriend yet?" Emma teased Caleb
"Jeez, you sound just like my mom." he whined
"Well your mom is the owner of a multimillion dollar company, so I'll take that as a compliment" She replied with a grin
"What about you Ada"
I gave her an annoyed look, "I was with you all summer, how bout you tell me."
"Besides, I'm not looking for a boyfriend, it would just get in the way."
"In the way of love?" she teased
"No," I said shutting my locker "in the way of my studies."
"And what if you find your soulmate, are you gonna link?"
"If I find my soulmate in this hell hole, then my dad is the worlds number one dad." I said sarcastically
"I'll hold you to it." she said smiling
You see the thing about Emma was that, no matter what, she could always find the upside to everything. She was the perfect girl, she had beautiful brown curls, enchanting green eyes and perfect skin. She was smart, an amazing artist and well basically everything a guy could dream of.
And Caleb, well he was just a sweet heart, he loved nature, everything about it. He was a complete mamas boy and he had these cute little blonde curls that made girls swoon and innocent blue eyes.
My best friends were perfect, I couldn't wish for better friends, I just wish I could be better for them.
"What's your schedule like this year?" Caleb asked
I showed him, it read:
First Period: Homeroom
Teacher: Mr Wise
Second Period: History
Teacher: Mrs Kimple
Third Period: Language Arts
Teacher: Mrs Kerk
15 Minute Break
Fourth Period: Chemistry
Teacher: Mr Chen
Fifth Period: Elective, Art
Lunch Break
Sixth Period: Math
Teacher: Mr Wise
Seventh Period: Biology
Teacher: Mr Chen
"You?"
I leaned over to peer at his schedule.
"We only have Sixth, Fifth, Fourth and Third Period together." He whined
"Aww, I only have Third, Fifth and Sixth with her, ooh but we have second period together!"
"A! Look, it's him!" she squealed
I turned around to see 'Him' enter, him being Emma's crush since third grade, also the most popular guy in school and notorious 'Bad Boy'. If I'm being honest he was quite cute, he had messy midnight black hair, piercing turquoise eyes and his signature smirk. He wore faded black jeans, a black ACDC T-shirt and black converse, quiet the variety of color as you can see.
His tight shirt showed off his muscles, think of Chris Hemsworth but with black hair, no beard and dark blue eyes, also ten times hotter. Yes yes, I know that he's my best friends crush but that doesn't mean I can't note that he's hot. His eyes contrasted perfectly against his bronze skin.
And although he looks like he's all that and most girls were already head over heels for him just for his looks, all of that paled in comparison to his cocky, selfish and obnoxious attitude. He was so full of himself that it didn't matter how hot he was, he was just unbearable to be with.
Surprisingly, not everyone shared my opinion, specifically Emma.
"Ugh, come on it's been what nine years, what do you even see in him. He's so narcissistic and full of him self."
"You know what, it's kind of funny for someone who always finds the best in people, to hate the one guy everybody loves."
"Not everybody loves him, right Caleb?"
He squirmed, "Well he's not that bad." he said shyly
"Come on you too?"
"I'm not taking his side, I'm just saying he hasn't done anything that deserves hate."
"What about that time he covered the stairs in baby oil causing you to sprain your ankle?" I challenged
"Well it's not like he was doing it to purposefully hurt me." He protested
"Ugh fine I have to get to class anyways, see you at Third Period." I huffed shutting my locker abruptly.
"Wait!" Emma called after me
I know it was silly to get so mad over some boy, but that guy just ticked me off. So I ignored my friends and continued towards my homeroom, hoping to find some peace and quiet.
Oh how wrong I was
