"I was given meta-forms of magic that govern time. I theorized on how a person could peek into the future or travel into the past," Cael explained to the dragon in front of him. "It MUST be possible, I know it! But… All sources on the subject I've met until now say that it's not. I can slow time or speed it up—in an area, at least. Even stopping it is possible, although it's very exhausting. But trying to peek into the future just brings me towards a wall."
"Yes, that's an interesting story indeed, mage. But my answer will disappoint you. I agree that there's no such thing as you seek."
Cael inhaled sharply. He didn't hope for a simple answer, but at least not a direct 'no' would've been really nice!
"Why?" he asked instead. The edge in his voice betrayed some of his emotion.
"Because time isn't a fabric that one can stretch and fold any way he wants! It's not at all like space that mages used for their goals for ages. Look!"
