Chapter 320: Death and destiny

Mimi still waited at the meeting point when Cael got to her. His wing healed the last, which meant that he had to walk on foot—and without the Deadening potion, he suddenly found that his muscles were torn in dozens of places from all the speed he used in the last battle.

Dante's body and all his things were safely stored in Cael's storage book.

"Master!" Mimi met him with a smile of pure joy. "Mistress's eyes stopped glowing! You won!"

Ginevra was still under the effects of Dante's paralytic poison, though, so Cael had no idea what she was experiencing. Was she conscious?

He hoped not—she looked far from comfortable, which didn't stop Mimi from lifting Ginevra up and jumping around Cael in jubilation.

It took her a minute to calm down enough to see that things weren't all sunshine and rainbows.
