Suddenly, the Void's neck snapped forward, bringing it almost a dozen meters closer to Cael.
"Dante Amato! He must've told you about me for you to spout these things!"
It all happened so quickly that Cael only had time to move two meters away from the Void. He moved reflexively, pulling Mimi with him with a gust of wind. Only when the dragon stopped moving, Cael realized that he wasn't attacking in the first place.
'He's so fast despite his size… If he really wanted to attack, there would have been no chance for me to get away without temporal hastening!' Cael thought.
"That mage…" the Void kept growling. "From the first time I met him, I knew he would be a thorn in my side, even if he was useful. Tell me, Cael, was he the one to bring you to this place? Was he?"
After the initial shock passed, Cael forced himself to calm down. He even crossed his arms on his chest in a show of self-assurance.
