Chapter 248: To rest at last, part 1

Cael felt like talking about the Starspawn to people who doubted his words and/or considered him just a slightest bit mad even before that was his fate now. His fate for the next nineteen years.

But vampires cared about honor and law, likely even more than the most honorable people Cael met before. Since he already got their oaths, they had to listen, even if some clearly didn't believe him.

They all believed in the other part of his plan, though—the one where Cael brought the vampires to the Kingdom of the Bear. Which wasn't going to be easy, but what was?

The next several hours the Council spent discussing the details of this move. Cael knew better than to bring forth everyone who wanted to take a pie of human lands and human goods.
