Chapter 227: A massive chalice

Cael was lying on a bench. It felt like a bench, at least. He opened his eyes and looked around. Yes, it was a bench, and he was in another minimalistic gray marble hall. The only furnishings here were a set of hard stone benches.

Cael winced, rubbing his neck. They were terribly uncomfortable to lie on… But how did he got here?

He guessed this was part of the magic of this place. A few spectral servants or something like that.

'Cael! You are finally awake. No shouting from me could do it! And my capabilities in this place are almost nonexistent,' System suddenly sounded in his head.

Cael's eyes opened wide and he grinned. System's presence meant that he was really awake now!

'I'm good. But what happened?' he asked, looking around.

Cael wasn't alone here. On the other benches, he saw two more people lying with his fingers intertwined on his chest, seemingly asleep.
