Chapter 153: At the speed of lightning

Cael groaned. "Oh, not again. It's just like that time in the temple ruins…"

"Except these things are much tougher than some specters," Ginevra added grimly. "Dealing with them one by one will take a while, and the control artifact might be just about anywhere."

Cael nodded. He realized all that—and knew that he would need his best, his bloodiest spells, and some time to finish them.

He gestured to Ginevra to focus on the lightning man who showed up on the flight of stairs above, and looked at the one who was coming down from below.

"<Eternal frost of the far North, come to my aid. Rise a glacier of defense on the path of danger. Let your power be my chilling shield and my indomitable fortress!>"

The Empowered Frost Wall grew before Cael, and a moment later caught one bolt of lightning after another.
