Chapter 150: Karma

In this section of the Inverted Tower, the elevator didn't even pretend to be working. The control artifact on the floor Cael stood at was broken, and the shaft boarded with wood planks.

"The creatures of this tower don't know what's good for them," Ginevra sneered. "They had elevators, but they walk up and down endless stairs instead."

Cael nodded. "I absolutely agree."

A bit of walking wasn't a problem, but the stairs weren't maintained much better than the elevator. Even in the Upper Tower, Cael noticed cracks in the old stone and missing bricks. Some were patched up, but some weren't, and one had to watch their step carefully.

Then there was trash and dirt lying here and there…

The first flight of stairs of the Green Rings that Cael and Ginevra walked down showed that this place wasn't in a good state either.
