Sadly for Cael, his family refused to let him go without peppering him with questions and lectures first. Father believed Cael had nothing to do with Ginevra anymore, and should stay an arrow flight away from her. Mother dearly hoped that Cael traveled in order to offer Ginevra his hand in marriage. In her case, such hope was a thing between an insistent suggestion and an indisputable order.
Vittorio just patted Cael on the shoulder with mock compassion.
"Yeah. I'd want to run away if I were in your spot, too," he said, grinning with a smug look of a person who watched another's troubles from the side and reveled in them.
