Chapter 40: The Misunderstanding

Weyna and Elijah walked out of the elevator, ignoring all of Noah's questions. Frustration building up inside him, Noah couldn't stay silent any longer. He raised his voice, halting their progress.

"Don't you think you're taking this too far? She is still my wife!" Noah shouted, desperately trying to make them listen.

Weyna turned around, her eyes filled with anger. "Since when? She was never your wife! You used her, Noah! All for the sake of your stupid revenge without even knowing the truth!"

Noah's eyes widened in disbelief. "Then did you know the truth?!" he exclaimed. "My brother is dead, and the day before his death, he transferred his building to Sarah! There's something suspicious about it all! My mother, who fought to uncover the truth behind Nick's death, ended up taking her own life, leaving me alone in that hellish house!" Noah's voice trembled with a mixture of anger, grief, and desperation.
