Trick 144: Mass Destruction Spell #5- Failure!
Ace was surprised, saying, "Uhh… Under you, Cap." Steve looked at the ground to see a giant vehicle erupt from the ground with 5 giant shredding wheels. The two figures from before jumped off the vehicle along with countless alien dogs, bypassing the forcefield!
Ace was stunned and said "This forcefield doesn't go underground!?" T'Challa was silent and Ace cursed, "Unbelievable. All these aliens are 'too tricky' what a joke!" he pointed at the vehicle that was about to crush Natasha and clenched his fist.
The vehicle stopped and turned into water, dousing Natasha completely. She looked up and said "Thanks. Can you dry me off?" Ace replied "I hate you. Honestly." She smiled beautifully at him, saying "Love ya~!" before smashing an alien dog's skull.
More of the shredder vehicles rose from the ground and Ace dealt with most of them, but Wanda appeared, stopping a few.
Ace frowned and looked at her, saying "What are you doing here?" Wanda replied "Helping!" Ace turned to the Palace and shouted "Idiot!" before flying off extremely fast, heading for Vision and Shuri.
Just as he left, the Bifrost landed in the middle of the battlefield, revealing Thor with a tree person and a raccoon.
Thor shouted "Bring me THANOS!" as he threw the Ax in his hand, chopping aliens like vegetables.
Ace saw Vision fighting a guy with a spear and he flipped his staff over to the broken blade end as he shot down, flipping in the air and stomping on the alien guy, sending him flying off of Vision.
Ace landed on his back and pushed off, getting back to his feet as the alien dude stabbed at him with his spear. Ace blocked with his staff, frowning as he said "Vision, you need to leave! Even if we all die, you have to get that stone away from here!"
The alien shouted "He cannot! He will die with you all!" as he slashed down with his spear, Ace blocked and fell to one knee, saying "Nobody told you? I'm a magician!" As he pushed off the spear and waved his staff, the tree roots shot towards him, wrapping him up and knocking his spear away.
Ace jumped back and flipped his staff, thrusting it forward, unleashing a torrent of chains that locked the alien in place, connecting behind him, forcing him to his knees with his arms in the air behind him.
Ace let out a breath and tapped the ground with the spear, saying "Now stay there… You're under arrest." before falling to the ground as a huge hammer flew right over him.
He turned and saw the hulk alien thing grinning at him.
Ace groaned "Oh great…" before slapping the ground, a pillar of ice froze the captured alien dude from the neck down as Ace rolled on the ground, saying "Uhhh… Can someone come pick Vision up?"
Banner said "Duck." Ace dropped to the ground as Banner flew over him, punching the alien hulk in the face, sending him flying through trees, saying "I got him!" while chasing after the hulk thing.
Ace let out a breath, turning back to the guy, saying "Where is Thanos?" The alien guy looked at Ace and said nothing, staying silent. Ace walked over and sighed, muttering "I really just want to know, you think I don't have the means to find out? Everything has to be so difficult all the time, can't they just cooperate?"
The Alien frowned "What are you doing?!" Ace ignored him and grabbed his head, muttering "Stupid aliens, so rude…" the guy said quickly "Wait! I'll tell you!" Ace replied "Too late." before his eyes burst into light.
He started reading the alien's memories, humming to himself as he found out some secrets, as well as… some things he didn't really want to see… This alien's name was Corvus Glaive and he had a wife! It was the horned girl on the battlefield, funnily enough the Hulk thing was his brother too!
This guy knew everyone!
Ace muttered "Blah blah blah… Thanos, Thanos, Thanos… Ah, here we go! Meet him on Titan… Okay, where is Titannnnn~ Boom, coordinates." he let go of Corvus, smiling "Thank you for your cooperation." as he tapped on Corvus' glaive, putting it in his personal space.
Corvus glared at Ace, struggling "I'll kill you!" Ace nodded and said "I bet! Which is why you're not going anywhere." he tapped on the ground and froze the rest of Corvus, the ice getting colder and colder before stopping.
Ace touched the crystal of ice and it snapped, cutting itself into a diamond shape, crystal clear with Corvus frozen solid in it.
A few minutes passed
He wiped his sweat and muttered "What a difficult spell… Who knew freezing someone in time was so hard… and long!" he rubbed his neck and turned to see Vision laying on the ground, holding onto his stomach.
Ace said "Go back to Shuri, we need to get that Gem out of you-" before pausing, saying "Hello?!"
Strange's voice came through "Ace! Can you hear me?!" Ace held his temples, saying "Yeah, where are you?" Strange said "T-Titan! Listen, he's coming. We lost." Ace replied "What do you mean?! How did you-"
Before freezing and turning his head as Strange shouted "Ace! Ace?!" Ace turned around and looked up, saying "Yeah… I'm gonna have to get back to you…" as he looked at Thanos emerging from a portal.
Thanos looked down at him, saying "Another wizard… And the Mind Stone. Excellent."
Ace looked at the gauntlet, seeing 5 stones as he said "So, you must be Thanos." Thanos turned back to Ace from Vision, replying "Correct." Ace held his staff and said "I'm obligated to tell you, you're trespassing on Earth's soil. Please return to Titan."
Thanos snorted in amusement "Oh? What will you do?" Ace frowned and waved behind him, throwing Vision far away as he replied "Send you back myself." Thanos smirked, "I highly doubt that."
Ace replied "I'm not too sure myself, but what the hell." as cards flew around him, sticking to his body, forming a segmented chest plate. He slammed the ground with his staff and the world around the duo turned to fragmented glass.
Thanos looked around saying "Your friend did the same trick." Ace replied "I'm stronger than my friend." as he bulked up, appearing in front of Thanos instantly, punching him in the face, shooting him across the mirror dimension!
Ace returned to normal and grew black curved horns as he waved in the air.
The ground and trees twisted and collapsed in one themselves as the world warped incomprehensibly, gravity changing constantly.
Thanos smashed into the ground and looked above him, seeing Ace standing on another piece of land in the sky, pointing his staff at him, a dark purple dragon flying out of his staff and attacking him.
Thanos said "I tire of these games." as he clenched his fist, Ace flicked his hand quickly as Thanos found his hands covered in ice and swapped.
When he moved his right hand, his left foot moved instead!
He snorted, "Useless." but he took a step with his right foot suddenly, causing him to take a knee in surprise.
Ace said "Very fickle thing, the mind. Sometimes it just… does what it wants…" as he disappeared like a mirage.
Thanos looked around him, seeing nothing but skulls and corpses of all his allies and generals, a green skinned woman was bisected on the ground in front of him as well as a blue skinned woman with a sword in her head.
Thanos looked around and said "What is this?" the corpses crawled to him, saying "Lord Thanos… Save us…" Thanos tried to grab them but the wrong parts of his body kept moving instead as a corpse climbed up his back, whispering "Save us… Save us…"
Ace emerged from behind him and reached out, touching Thanos' head, his eyes glowing brightly as wings sprouted from his back.
Thanos roared and the world started cracking.
Ace frowned and disappeared, sinking into the ground as Thanos' arms twisted out of order, morphing into the head of the green skinned woman "Why… Why…" Thanos shouted "Get out of my HEAD!"
As the gems glowed, shattering the mirror dimension.
He found himself back where he was standing, looking at Ace, who smiled "Fascinating isn't it? Magic, that is. You could do anything." as he twisted and disappeared, the world around them fading into nothing.
Thanos clenched his fist and waved the Gauntlet, but nothing changed!
In the real world
Ace was sweating like a dog, desperately holding onto his staff, staring at Thanos, who's eyes were hazy. He shouted "Get out of here! Leave!" Steve held Vision and nodded, "Careful." as he ran off with Wanda, carrying Vision away.
Ace nearly collapsed, muttering "Holy shit… This dude… Good thing he doesn't have the Mind Stone…"
Suddenly, Thanos' eyes closed and Ace let out a breath, he made a portal in front of his fingers and reached his hand through to the gauntlet, gently pulling on it as it loosened slightly.
Ace was really sweating now, extremely careful and gentle, if Thanos wakes up… Let's not think about that.
The Gauntlet slipped to Thanos' wrist, Ace's eyes glowed and he pulled only for his finger to brush against the Soul Stone as Thanos' eyes snapped open suddenly! Ace's eyes widened and he froze, pulling on the Gauntlet extremely hard, but just before it left Thanos' hand, he grabbed the edge with his fingers.
Ace exploded in muscle, pulling with everything he had as the gauntlet slowly came through the portal, grunts escaping his throat. Thanos grit his teeth and his arm reached into the portal.
Ace's eyes lit up and he closed the portal on Thanos' wrist!
The portal closed but it didn't close at all!
It dug into Thanos' flesh as he grunted in pain, taking a step forward and thrusting his hand through the portal into the Gauntlet!
Ace froze and the 5 gems lit up, blasting Ace in the chestplate with a multicolored beam.
Ace grunted as he was sent flying, letting go of the Gauntlet.
Thanos crushed the portal and walked to Ace, saying "I have to commend you, Wizard. You almost did it." Ace rolled on the ground and coughed up blood, looking at Thanos as he spat out some more, saying "Bastard."
He pulled out a blue vial and fell into a portal, landing a few feet away as he drank the potion. He cleared his throat and wiped his lips, standing back up, saying "I'm not done yet." as he pointed his staff forward, frowning.
Thanos frowned and the Stones lit up, pulling Ace to him.
Ace flew into the air and thrusted through a runic circle, his face appearing to be a skull with curling horns coming out of his hood. Massive wings burst from his back and the ground started warping from gravity, turning into a bowl shape.
Thanos frowned and narrowed his eyes as a little black orb appeared at the tip of Ace's staff.
The world around them turned to red and started deteriorating however Ace snorted from the skeleton face as purple dust appeared, stopping the red mist from changing anything.
Thanos frowned, green rings coming up around his gauntlet. Ace said "It's useless. The Stones may make you nigh invincible, but only if you have all 6. This spell is not affected by time and space, the Power and Soul will do nothing, and I'm stopping the Reality stone. Checkmate."
Thanos looked at the orb as it started growing, swallowing everything inside of it, dust, rubble, leaves, trees, everything as it grew bigger and bigger.
Thanos frowned deeply and looked at Ace, saying "There's one flaw. And it's you." he pressed against the black hole with his gauntlet, all stones lighting up as he held it there, reaching out at Ace.
Ace pressed out his palm, casting a shield, stopping Thanos, who smirked "It's over." Ace was confused and looked around as the red mist swarmed into the black hole, his eyes widened and he said "NO!" as it turned red before exploding, sending Ace, shooting through the woods, landing on the ground.
Thanos emerged from a portal in front of him, saying "You have my respect, Ace. You never killed a soul, that's quite an achievement." Ace coughed up blood as his cards fell to the ground next to him, looking up as he said "What do you know?!"
Thanos squatted down and grabbed Ace's head, removing his hood as he replied "Everything." before grabbing Ace's staff as Steve showed up again, running over.
Thanos snorted and said "Let them remember you as you were." before running Ace through with the blade end of his staff. Ace gasped and Thanos let go of his head, standing back up and swatting Steve away.
Ace swallowed and grabbed the staff, looking down at the shaft poking through his body, he touched the blood that was leaking out and rubbed it between his fingers as Steve held the Gauntlet, touching the Soul Stone by accident as Thanos paused, staring at Steve, who managed to push back slightly.
Thanos recovered and punched Steve flying as he walked behind him to Wanda and Vision.
Wanda tried to stop him and Ace turned his head, blood leaking from his mouth, watching as Wanda was tossed to the side.
The Mind Gem was destroyed however!
Regardless, Thanos turned back time and plucked the Mind Stone from Vision's skull, looking at it as Thor shouted "THANOS!" throwing his ax from afar.
Thanos put the Mind Stone in and blasted Thor's ax with the full power of the 6 Infinity Stones. Ace reached out and flicked his finger, a dark purple bolt flew at Thanos, hitting him in the head, distracting him as the beam disappeared, the ax cutting into his chest.
Ace coughed and smiled, before turning back and looking at the sky.
How strange.
It was blue and clear.
How beautiful.
As his vision turned black…
Steve sat up and looked at Thor as people started turning to dust. He looked over to see Ace turning to dust, however his staff and cloak went with him, leaving his cards all over the place where he just was.
Steve looked down at the ground and let out heavy breaths, pounding the ground and roaring.
Thor looked at the spot Thanos just was in shock, unable to comprehend what had just happened…
The Avengers lost.
Scattered across the world, separated in two, as the sun set on this dark but beautiful day, marking the end of the Avengers for good.
The Avengers paid a heavy toll and bled.
The people of the world saw it, even the beings in the universe noticed, and once you can make God bleed… people will cease to believe in him.
Crime rose to tremendous heights after this day…
Back at the House
Sharon opened the door and looked outside at the sky, she saw people turning to dust randomly. Her eyes watered and she smiled, snorting as she wiped her eyes. A bright smile on her face as she said "I'm proud of you…"
Jack and Margaret held her legs as Jack asked "Mommy? Why is that guy turning to dust?" Margaret asked "Where's daddy?" Sharon rubbed their heads and said "Let's go, you two. Daddy is being a hero, right now. You don't want to make him worry, right?"
They shook their heads and Sharon said "Go inside, pack up your things. Come on. We're going away for a bit." the kids smiled happily "Yay, a trip!" Sharon teared up and sent them along before walking into Ace's office by the library.
She tapped on the table and a runic circle appeared.
Sharon sniffed and said "Queen of Hearts." The runic circle turned purple and the table opened up, revealing a button.
Sharon pressed the button and turned around to see the bookcases slide open, turning towards her, revealing a full array of magic weapons, pistols, machine guns, rifles, everything!
Along with a ton of cash in every currency and keys to a magic car.
She looked at the things and covered her mouth, tears dripping from her face.
She heard two little voices, shouting "Mommy! We're ready~!" before wiping her tears and smiling, packing up the weapons in a magical duffle bag.
She walked to the car and saw a note under the windshield wiper. She picked it up and burst into tears.
All it said was: 'I'm sorry. -Love, Ace.'
Sharon leaned against the wall and slid down, hugging her knees, gripping the little note tightly as Jack and Margaret ran over, shouting "Woah! A car! But how are we gonna drive away? We're inside!"
Jack looked at Margaret, holding a backpack as he said "Stupid head! Obviously, we can just go outside!" Margaret said angrily "You're the stupid head! We're inside right now!" Jack looked embarrassed, retorting "That's why we're going outside! Dumbface!" Margaret said "You're a dumbface!"
Jack shouted "Am not!" Margaret pointed at his nose, shouting "Are too!" Sharon looked up from her knees and smiled "You're here? I almost fell asleep." Margaret pointed at Jack, saying "Mommy, are we gonna go outside? Jack said we were but he's a dumb stupid face."
Jack looked at Sharon, saying "Mommy! She called me a dumb stupid face!" Sharon hugged both of them, saying gently "Get in the car, my loves." Jack and Margaret calmed down and nodded, saying in unison "Okay, mommy…" before climbing into the car as Sharon opened the backdoor.
She smiled, "Seat Belts!" before closing the door, biting her lip, holding back tears as she continued smiling.
She turned to the wall and pressed a button, getting in the car as the ceiling opened.
Sharon started the car and flew out of the house as the roof closed. She looked back and the house flashed, runes swimming all over it before it slowly turned invisible and disappeared, looking like ruins.
She snorted and smiled, turning back as tears dripped from her eyes before shooting off into the sky and disappearing…
