Drying my body in the bathroom before wrapping the white towel around my body, I applied all the hair treatments on my hair because it was always curly if not taken care of.
I picked out a simple dress from when I got into my room from the wardrobe, it was just a pink chevron long-sleeve shirt and a black fitted skirt, with a pair of low heels because I don't fancy high heels that would make me very uncomfortable.
I got into the kitchen and made some cereal, then my phone rang, it was Annie… I rolled my eyes, knowing she will ask me if I was prepared for today.
She acts as if she was my biological mum…
I answered her call with a pout, "Baby!!" she screamed on the phone, and all I did was move the phone away from my ear… I was used to that already.
"Hope you are not on the bed, 'cause I will kick your ass out of there?" She scolded me as I brought the phone close to my ear, which made me roll my eyes.
"Still on the bed," I yawned on purpose.
"What the hell, Ammy!!" She shrieked loudly.
"It's your first day!" She reminded me, with a hint of disappointment lacing that tiny voice of hers… As if I didn't know it was my first day, either.
"I know, I know, I will just take a quick bath and get ready before you know it," I replied nonchalantly, teasing her.
"Do you want to lose this precious job most ladies will be dying to have?" She fumed annoyingly, making me laugh at her outburst.
"Jeez! Calm down, baby mama, I'm up already," I chuckled as I stirred my cereal and took a spoonful of it into my mouth.
"Idiot!" She cussed lowly.
"I heard you," I said, smacking my lips together.
"Whatever, hope you are ready?" She asked.
"Yes, momma," I answered, taking another spoon of cereal.
"Make sure you take breakfast before going, take good care of yourself, and you are going to give me feedback on what happens today, goodbye," She hung the call before I could even respond.
Oh boy! She's something else. I looked at my wristwatch, it was already 6:30 a.m. I gulped down the remaining cereal I was eating fastly then went back into my room and grabbed all the important things I will need and kept them in my bag, before hopping out of my apartment.
Getting to the Street, I waited for a cab to flag down and pick me up.
I waited for about 15 minutes and was becoming frustrated.
'Gosh! What's all this? I would rather not be late on my first day,' I thought worriedly as my gaze fixed on the empty road.
'I need to hire a cab before I can get to afford a car by myself,' I thought.
"Hello miss," I heard someone call, and I glanced to my right, a cab packed close to me.
"Hey! H-Hi" I stammered happily, walking hurriedly to the driver.
"Please to TRIS limited," I said, and he nodded. I quickly opened the back door and hastily sat on the back seat, thanking the heavens for answering my prayers.
"You work there?" He asked as he stared at me through the reverse mirror.
"Yeah! Just got a job there, recently," I grinned.
"That's great!" He said as he focused on the road.
He seemed to be a nice man, so I thought about telling him if he could come to pick me up every morning at the place we met.
"Uhm! Sir," I called as he glanced at the mirror again.
"Yes," He answered.
"Do you mind if you come to pick me up at where we just met every morning?" I asked, hoping he would agree, as I played with my fingers.
"Sure… You just have to settle the bills," He answered while I nodded in agreement.
"That won't be a problem," I said proudly as I stared out the window, gawking at the city's view.

40 minutes later,
I got to my destination and then scooted out of the cab… I paid the man who should be around his late thirties his fee.
"Have a nice day at work," He wished me.
"You too!" I reciprocated, waving at him while he drove away.
I turned around, looking up at the magnificent skyscraper in front of me, and felt all proud again.
'Can't believe that I'm working here,' I thought to myself, and suddenly, I became nervous because this will be my first job… the first time I will be working in such a big well-known company.
"Let's do this," I calmed myself, taking in short breaths, and started taking my steps to the large glass door.
I was fifteen minutes early… which means I still had some time left to make coffee for my boss. I entered the building and went over to the bitchy receptionist I met the other time I came for the interview.
'That weirdo!' I cussed in my mind as I stared at her while her gaze was glued to the computer screen.
"Good morning," I greeted with a gentle voice, she wore a bright short yellow gown and had this make-up on her face as if she had a party to attend.
She looked up to see who was greeting her and when her eyes settled on me, a mischievous smirk formed on her lips.
"Oh! Finally, you got your ass here, tell me something kitty cat… you slept with him before you got the job, right?" She asked bluntly while I had to blink my eyes severally at her trying to process what she just said.
'What did she mean by that?' I pondered.
'Sleep with who before getting which job,' I thought, she got to be kidding me.
I knew for a very fact she didn't like me the first day she set her eyes on me, but that didn't give her the audacity to talk to me that way… Where were her manners?
I'm pretty certain, she left it at home.
"Excuse me? What did you just say?" I asked to be sure I heard right before lashing her out… I wouldn't mind losing this job to speak senses into that daft brain of hers.
How dare her?
Do I look like some sort of slut to her?
"I guess you heard me right," She retorted arrogantly with a daring look on her face, screaming about what I was going to do with what she just said.
'How rude!' My mind added.
"Hey!!!" I bawled slamming my palm on the glass-like table of hers with my eyes widened at her, she moved back with a jerk…shocked at my outburst.
'Calm down Amanda! We all know you have anger issues but you and I both know you need this job badly,' My mind pleaded, but I was way beyond boiling.
"Do I look like some kind of brat here that you can just open that stupid mouth of yours and talk to?" I asked, furiously, staring at her like she was insane.
"I didn't sleep with anyone to get any job neither am I a cheap bitch like some girls out there because I have my standards, get that in your freaking brains," I said firmly, looking at her straight in the eyes.
"Ok-Okay!" She stuttered, as her lips quivered.
"And not everyone will be like you… who knows if you had slept with him to get yours," I added with a scoff, and her face fell.
'Gosh! That fucking hit the spot,' I thought cockily as a proud smirk formed on my lips, seeing that I'd put her in her place.
"So, if you don't mind, could you please let me sign?" I questioned, feeling irritated by her sight already.
After signing, I went straight to the elevator, pressing the button for the first floor. I stared at the metallic door and a sigh escaped from my lips.
I glanced at my wristwatch as my eyes almost popped out of the socket.
"Fuck!" I cussed lowly, adjusting my purse in my arms when I realized I had just 5 minutes left to report to my boss's office with his coffee, all thanks to that bitch.
The elevator door opened, and I scooted out hurriedly, bumping into someone, I moved back a bit hoping it wasn't my boss, but luck was on my side when I saw it was the elderly woman who was the secretary to my boss.
"Good morning ma'am, I apologize for running into you," I coughed lightly, putting on an innocent face and staring at her sheepishly.
"That's nothing," She waved it off, demonstrating with her hands as I breathed out.
'Thought she was going to scold you,' My mind said.
'Yeah! Me too,' I thought in response.
"I'm Mrs. Wood Sarah and oh my, you're such a beauty!" She remarked brightly, gazing at me.
'Awwwn.'
"Thank you, ma'am--"
"Sarah… Call me by my name," She said while I nodded with a smile.
"Okay, Sarah…" I said her name and a warm smile appeared on her lips, which created some wrinkles around her face.
"Do you mind telling me where I could make the boss coffee and how he likes it?" I asked immediately… It was my first day at work and I needed to make the impression that I was capable of doing my job well, even if it means becoming the world's best coffee brewer.
"He likes his coffee black with two cubes of sugar… And the coffee machine is on the third floor on the left, "She directed.
"Thank you," She waved at me as she began walking away, and I found myself already striding back to the elevator, I pressed the button to open the door of the elevator and got in immediately, and pressed the button for the third floor.
I was counting the seconds before the elevator door finally opened only for me to be rushing out like a maniac, I ignored those staring at me and turned to the left, it was easy to get to, so I quickly brewed the coffee and added two cubes of sugar in the black coffee, just the way Sarah told me to make it.
'Jeez, I can't drink that unless it's creamy,' I thought, rushing back to the elevator and at the same time being alert not to let the coffee spill, it won't be funny at all.
I got to my boss's office and knocked without waiting for a response just because of how tense I was that time wasn't on my side, I pressed the handle down and got in only for me to see what I wasn't supposed to see or I wasn't meant to see.
A blonde lady on my boss's legs…both smooching each other out with steamy kisses.
Wow…
'Amanda drops the coffee and walks out before they notice you,' My mind jolted me up from my bewildered state.
They didn't even notice I had opened the door, staring at them as they groped each other… the blonde lady's moans made me want to puke. I was instantly disgusted by my boss's attitude… is this who he was? Couldn't he look for somewhere else to exhibit his immoral act and not in the office?
My instinct was to turn back, close the door and knock on the door appropriately as I should have done earlier to get their attention since they were acting like two sexually deprived beasts.
I didn't know how long I stood there watching my hot boss making out with the blonde lady in his office, or how they were not supposed to know the presence of someone in the office.
I found myself walking closer to the table with my eyes fixed on them as my boss's hand roamed the blonde's breast almost sticking out through her unbuttoned shirt, squeezing the life out of it, and I blushed crimson red… maybe it was a bad idea entering into the office.
The blonde lady moaned out lowly, and I frowned, staring at her as she enjoyed the sensual bliss she found herself in.
'That was enough,' I thought annoyingly.
I don't even know why I was getting irritated or angry anyway… I'm just supposed to drop the cup of coffee and walk out like the invincible lady they turned me into, but this doesn't feel right and as the personal assistant to my boss, I guess I can also correct him when the need arises.
My stupid self decided to clear her throat, making my boss and the blonde lady come to their senses and stop their crazy business. They were both engaged as they cast a surprised look towards my way.
For a moment, I was angry… why was I angry? That was something I couldn't explain by myself. I realized I had been staring too long at my boss and noticed he too had also fixed his gaze on me. He looked amused not because of what I caught him doing, but with the way, I had judged him with my eyes… And hell yeah, I had judged him so much with these little pretty eyes of mine.
My eyes lowered to his lips, and I cleared my throat once more and looked away while his swollen red lips played in my memory.
"Good morning sir, this is your coffee," I said calmly, placing the coffee on the table and at the same time narrowed my gaze to the blonde lady who was adjusting her clothes when I bent lowly.
I glanced back at my boss and noticed he was still staring at me.
'Take your eyes off me, jerk!' Someone like him would be nothing more than a perverted jerk who used women for their pleasure.
'What's with those eyes of his on me, anyway?' I pondered, staring elsewhere except at him.
I straightened up myself and turned around immediately to leave the goddamn office that was screaming explicit zone.
"Amanda!" My boss's deep voice halted me, the way he called my name made all the hair on my body stand erect, causing a chill to run down my spine… I don't even want to think about it.
The blonde lady walked past me, bumping me on the shoulder slightly and nudging me out of her way… I heard her chuckle shamelessly and stared at how she swayed her hips as she walked out of the office, while I just stood without turning around to answer my boss.
"Didn't you know you should knock on the door and wait for a response before barging in like that, or were you supposed to be oriented on that aspect?" I heard a deep voice say behind me, and I turned around immediately to find my boss standing so close to me with his cup of coffee in his left hand.
'How did he even get so close to me within a short period of time and without me realizing,' I thought suspiciously, trying to do a quick calculation of how he had walked so fast from his seat to where I was standing.
"I'm talking to you, Miss. Jackson," That arrogant voice woke me from my trance and I blinked severally at the handsome devil standing in front of me while I tried to register what he had said earlier.
"Miss. Jackson?" His baritone voice sounded so stern now.
"Huh?"
"I guess you do have the habit of zoning out each time I converse with you, and I'm afraid I have to—"
"I'm sorry, sir," I interrupted him as fast as I could, I didn't want to hear what he had to say next.
'What was he afraid of anyway?'
'That he's going to have me quitting from my new job or what?' I pondered as my heart beat wildly against my chest.
I rather don't hear what he has to say next… so, it's better off that way, as I interrupted him.
"It won't happen again," I uttered confidently, trying to keep an eye level with him, but I couldn't.
"Good," I noticed the arrogant and cocky smirk that curled up around the corner of his extremely pinkish lips.
'I wonder how soft his lips are?'
'Amanda! Seriously?' I scolded myself… how could I be thinking of such a forbidden thing about my boss?
My eyes met with his dark eyes that held a great depth of tranquility, and it was weird how my heart was starting to pound insanely and blood flowing heavily to my temple.
'What's wrong with me?'
'Why am I feeling this way when I'm so close to him?'
I looked away, not able to bear the self-esteem of staring at him straight in the eyes, although I could feel the amusement his eyes held while I bet a taint of pink would have stained my cheeks.
"Perhaps, you didn't see anything as you walked into the office?" I snapped my face back to his, all unspoken nervousness in me washed away and replaced with irritation.
'How could he be asking me such a question? So dumb of him?'
'Am I blind or what?'
"No, I didn't see anything, sir?" I said through my teeth and put on a fake smile, while he arched a brow at me and smiled.
He raised his left hand holding the cup of coffee to his lips and sipped out of the coffee I had prepared for him and nodded his head in acknowledgment.
'Guess, it wasn't bad,' I thought with a sigh of relief escaping through me.
"This is good for your first," He complimented and moved closer to me, covering the distance between us, and my heart skipped a beat.
"Tha-thank you" I stuttered, my nervousness running back to me.
His cologne filled my nostrils, like the first time he got so close to me on the day of my interview, and I'm starting to hate it that I might get used to his intoxicating smell.
"I think, I should get going," I muttered, still feeling quite uncomfortable, and took a step away from him, at least I would be able to breathe even for a little while.
One thing I know for sure is that I don't trust this man, well, I don't know him well enough to be keeping a close space with this handsome devilish looking young man, not even with what I saw earlier with what he and that bitchy blonde lady were doing.
I gasped suddenly when I felt his right hand wrap around my upper-right arm and pulled me suddenly to him.
My face hit his chest before I could get a grip of myself and I could inhale his cologne sharply through my nostrils, which made my stomach churn unexpectedly… I don't even want to know if it is a good or bad feeling.
"I didn't say you could go, did I?" He questioned, sounding like the Imperious boss that he is.
"No, you di-didn't," I quivered, my heart was beating so fast that I was afraid that it might burst anytime soon.
"Good! You should only carry out orders that I give to you," A surging chill ran down my body the way he said it, not as a warning but something he would want me to oblige to certainly.
"Now, go meet Sarah… tell her to take you to your office, and she will tell you what to do next," He said and finally let go of my arm.
I scooted away from him as fast as possible and glared at him…
He will be one hell of an annoying person.
Such a pest!
'Did he necessarily have to hold me so close, to tell me all that?' I wondered irritatingly as I watched him take another sip from the coffee and gave me that proud smirk of his.
I wished I could pour that coffee on him, right now.
"Okay sir," I replied and turned around, striding so fast to the door to get out of his office more than anything I could think of.
