Irene sat silently in the carriage, watching the scenery outside, ignoring the gaze from beside her. Since the time her Father had left the mansion earlier, her younger 'brother' had been staring at her interrogatively. It was as if the moment he found her alone, another session of intense questioning would ensue.
Irene did not give a damn about what the young man wanted to say. She was now certain that her behavior with her father back in the living room had confirmed his suspicions. And she did not know what to do to rectify the situation.
"You are unusually silent for someone who was speaking a lot around Uncle, ordering him around and making him happy with your interesting words," Damen commented all of a sudden, his keen eyes filled with amusement and curiosity and Irene rolled her eyes, frustrated by her life completely.
