Chapter 68: Standstill

Irene was still in a trance as she retraced the path she had taken previously to the palace. All the incidents that had happened inside with the man before she fell asleep kept playing in her mind repeatedly like a broken record player, sending her mind into a mush.

Waves and waves of uneasiness hit her hard, making it difficult for her to comprehend anything for a moment. The blazing sun did not faze her and she was so lost in her thoughts that she did not notice anything else.

'What the fuck did I just do?' Irene shouted in her mind as she clutched her skirt tightly to avoid collapsing. More than anything, it was the kisses she had shared with the mind that she could not forget. It was all passionate and Irene felt herself revisiting the times when his soft, cold lips had touched her hot ones.
