Chapter 16: end-or tasks
Morning came, I didn't exactly have alarm clocks in my room, so I just put a large window behind my bed so I could simply wake up naturally.
I awoke as the sunlight hit my face, I was still pretty half asleep, I needed to force myself awake because in Minecraft you do NOT want to wait to do things at nighttime if you don't have to!
However, something felt different about my awakening this morning... I don't remember wrapping myself up this tight in my sheets.
As I turned my head I was in total shock, I can definitely say that I was AWAKE now!
There was an enderman in my room, you guessed it! Teles was sleeping here! I guess she teleported in here the second I was fast asleep. No wonder she was eyeing this place so much the other day, there was nothing special about this room!!!
I didn't even notice the fact that I was being wrapped around in her arms and legs like I was some kind of body pillow... Wait, how did I not realize that first!?!? Forget it, I should just quietly leave!
I carefully inched my way out of the clutches of the endergirl and with stealthy acrobatics, I fell flat onto my face as I fell off my bed, eh, close enough!
I put on my normal clothes (Though I only really have one pair) I noticed that my outfit was a bit torn, those monster attacks are definitely the reason. (Whenever I got into the shower I could see some scars on my arms and torso.)
I gotta get my outfit tailored soon!
I make my way quietly out of my room, and close the door, Alright! Time to start the- wah!
Just then I felt like I was grabbed on the shoulder and instantly teleported back into my bed!
The next thing I knew, I was in the exact same situation I was in when I woke up this morning... Eh whatever, I didn't feel like waking up to begin with... zzzzzzzzz

Alright... so afternoon came, I had some of my own personal work finished, so I'd better help Teles with her to-do list today!
I showed her to the request center in the city square, I lived mostly on the outskirts of the village, and trust me it was a large city we lived in!
So the walk to the square was kind of long. The reason why it felt even longer was the fact that Teles and I were getting eyed from everywhere! I kept somewhat of a distance from her myself so it proved that she was perfectly fine by herself.
The residents still saw her as a monster, and I was probably seen as crazy for wanting to befriend a Demi monster.
I didn't care though. Ever since high school, people always felt the need to avoid me or look away, they thought I was "dangerous", I guess I wasn't ever taking it seriously though.
If I really wanted to be a man about it I would've stood up for myself more... But that is all going to change now, this is what I'm fighting for in this world.
Maybe getting sent here was more of a second chance for myself, though instead of just standing up for myself.
I'm also doing it for others because I KNOW Teles is forced into a situation similar to mine, so this way I can stop her from being discriminated against because everyone still thinks she's dangerous!

We finally arrived at the request center, I told Teles everything she needed to know what to do.
"Alright, I understand!" She said
"Go ahead and pick one you want to do, there are tons of them to choose from," I explained
Teles studied the papers for a few seconds and picked up a paper, "This one!"
It was a request for wood, it was kind of like the one I picked a long time ago.
"Nice choice, let me get you- oh, you're gone..."
She vanished instantly, I waited around for a couple of minutes and she teleported back to my location.
"Done!" Teles called over to me with stacks of wood next to her, I kinda forgot she could easily pick up chunks of materials with relative ease!
"Now what?"
"Now you just need to deliver the materials to the person who requested them, there are usually addresses on the information sheets," I explained
We then went ahead and followed the delivery instructions on the paper. I held all the wood for her in my inventory, I'd say there were 20 pieces of wood in total.
Hard to tell half the time though, I can't really LOOK inside my inventory whenever I want. (Maybe I CAN look into my inventory but I just don't know how to do it!)
I just have to THINK of what item I have in there and then I could pull it out, but it has to be something I put in there in the past.

Once we got to the delivery address I told Teles to knock on the door. I also put all the wood stacked next to her since she was the one who collected it.
luckily the guy who made the request was located at the woodwork shop... wait for woodwork? That's just lazy... Whatever, we got the wood already, let's just cash it in!
The shop itself was closed, but it was one of those personal businesses where the owner had their house connected to the store.
The Carpenter opened the door to see who it was, it looked like he had a leg cast on, well jeez now I feel bad about what I was thinking earlier...
"Hello? How can I hel- GAH!!!!" He shouted jumping back (How smooth!)
"This your request?" Teles said as she flashed him the paper he sent to the town square
"W-well yes but..." He looked in my direction, I was practically giving him a death stare something that said "Don't be racist you *****, you're receiving help!" on my face.
I was kinda in the distance, but I could still be clearly seen (Though I guess I'm not THAT hard to spot in a crowd...)
The carpenter collected himself "I-I'm sorry, I've been pretty shaken up recently (Yeah sure you were buddy) Thanks for all the wood, here's what I owe you!"
He then handed Teles some emeralds, though, the emeralds in this world seemed a lot different than in actual Minecraft.
I know what you're thinking "But doesn't EVERYTHING here look different than in the original game?" Well true, but I'm saying that there seem to be different types of emeralds.
As if certain ones act as a different type of currency, the ones that were handed to Teles had different values than the ones I received a while back.
I noticed Teles was also a bit lost on what she had received, I guess I haven't really taught her how economics work around this city, but to be honest, I wasn't completely sure either.
There was only 1 type of emerald when I played Minecraft, and so far I have seen 4 different currency values around here!
"You see, this type of emerald is worth 5 emerald nuggets. They aren't worth as MUCH as others, but that's why I paid in multiple, I hope you don't mind." The carpenter explained
"It's fine, thanks!" Teles said
Eh, okay that actually helps, emeralds around here act like certain monetary bills. Wish someone explained that to me a long time ago, I just kept whatever I got from my quests!

We continued to make our way around the city.
"That went well!" Teles said,
"Yeah, nice job, you planning on doing any more?" I questioned
"Might as well" she shrugged
"Okay then, think you got the swing of things to do this one solo?" I suggested
"Wha- umm I don't know..." Teles said unsure "I don't think they completely trust me yet by myself..."
"Exactly the point! They're just going to think you're acting nice only when I'M around!" I explained
"Well, I guess that makes sense..."
"However, I won't just throw you in the deep end of the pool here, I'll stick around and do as many requests as you'd like today, but tomorrow I think you should attempt this on your own to get the villagers to trust you faster!"
"Okay..." she sighed
I still think this is the best choice of option here, and besides, with Teles doing this solo, I can start working on my next big project!
My REAL xp fountain! I can't exactly look up tutorials on how to make newer ones, so I just need to go back to some of the designs I still remember how to make.
Perhaps I will go with the farm-style ones... I still need to brainstorm my ideas in my book later tonight.
Alas, I'm not free at the moment, after realizing she was going to be alone the next day, Teles grabbed a tone more requests that we had to do today... that helpful punk!
This is going to take all day! I guess I never had anything mandatory to do anyway, I don't mind! Honestly, she is starting to remind me of Stephen, that guy was always helping others out...
"This next guy needs golden nuggets. Hey, why don't we go back to that nether reactor core for it!" Teles proposed
"Definitely not!" I responded, "Here I think I have some to spare in storage!"

Morning came yet again, man I'm tired... My hair is a mess... I needed to gunpowder my nose anyway. I could just comb my hair in the bathroom!
I reached into my baggy pockets and brought out a small zip-lock bag where I kept my medications, These were all I had left when I got transported here, luckily I packed a lot, but there was only one pill left! 'Aww ******!'
I approached the bathroom door, and as I reached for the handle I quickly remembered something, I'm living with someone else! So better knock JUST in case...
"Occupied"
Dang it! Maybe I should make a second bathroom in this base, especially since there are going to be others who are probably going to live here, like Stephen once I finally find him! At this point, it would be faster to just simply wait...

While waiting I decided to study my green book abilitiy about ideas for my next machine. Let's see... hoppers yea, pistons sure, probably need those observer things...
"What are you writing?" Teles said appearing in front of me in an instant (You could use the door you know... not like it locks or anything!!!)
"Woah!" I jumped back
"Sorry..."
"Eh it's cool," I said "You see I'm just drawing some schematics of this build I'm tryna make, I think I will hit the caves today, I need iron the most here, possibly some Redstone...."
"I see," She probably has no idea what I'm talking about
"I'm assuming you're going to be out and about in the village today?"
"Mhm," Teles nodded "Are you sure you don't need me to come with you?"
"I'll be fine. Those caves are dangerous, I don't need ya in there more than I have to!" I responded
"Oh, another time then," Teles said trying to hide the faint glow in her eyes.
"Alright, I guess I will head out north then, I'd probably have better luck in the mountainous caves there!"
"Are you going out like that?"
"Hmm?" 'Oh yeah, my hair is a mess... I got kinda sidetracked'
"Here, let me fix it for you!" Teles offered
It took around 7 minutes, but Teles went the extra mile, and my hair was even BETTER than when I got here!
"Interesting..." Teles remarked
"What is it?" I asked
"Your hair, It's naturally like this?" I guess she noticed the roots, though I never really took a second to notice most people didn't have such a standout look as I did.
Now of course I can thank the fact that my skin had red and green hair, and I still looked human. You can make your Minecraft skin however you want, I wonder what people who had animal or other non-human skins looked like when they got transported here.
It's a huge world though, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't even notice the difference between someone who originally lived here, or from the world I came from.
"Yeah, It was like this when I woke up here," I explained "I didn't always look like this, but I can't really change at this point."
"An old look?"
"Yeah, my look wasn't anything all that special before I got here. Heck, I looked like the polar opposite of my current look"
It's true, in my past life my appearance was pretty basic, my hair was shaggy and fully black, and I had a menacing build, I mean I wasn't a complete brute, but I wasn't as skinny as I looked in this world.
(I was definitely stronger in this world than in my last, I couldn't punch down trees with my bare hands in the previous one!)
I lightly touched my hair and looked around in the mirror, I was clearly impressed with Teles' work here!
"I love it, thanks!" I said
Of course!" Teles replied
I left the bathroom and grabbed some fruit from the kitchen "Alright, I will head out for real this time, Cya!"
We said our goodbyes and left the base, I know there is going to be a lot of work done from the both of us today, I just hope it all goes by smoothly!
