Chapter 5: Building Bases and trust part 3

POV Takeo:

Week one of living in the village.

As I continued to improve my base, I started from a simple shelter with the usual wood and cobblestone, but I reconstructed it and improved it my own way! I added a small farm, stone walls, and a watchtower.

My base also had a type of outpost style going on with it, the outpost designs were always my favorite way of building my bases when I used to play Minecraft, so why not also copy it here?

I had my base building in the corner, and I put small walls around the sides of it where I have an open land space, cobble on the ground, and cobble walls on top, I didn't want something too tall or that might raise suspicion, I wanted to still show I was open to helping everyone out.

Once I finished the outpost I put flowers, dirt paths, and other garden decorations in the outside outpost, I didn't want the inside of it to be bare you know?

After I finished the exterior of my base, I decided to go work on the interior while I was at it, just tryna get it all done today, it's not like I can't continue updating it after finished, but I felt like it would be one less thing I'd have to do.

I placed down a crafting table, some chests, and a couple of furnaces in one of the rooms, I also placed down a bed and created a master bedroom. I had more space in my house than I thought, so why not also create some luxuries for this house?

I went to the main entrance and decided to make it my living room, I'll make a nice couch and fireplace! The fireplace was pretty easy, I got some clay from the nearby river and made bricks for the fireplace, I broke a hole into my roof so that the smoke from the fire could vent.

In the end, this was pretty easy to make, all that was left to do is put some logs in, and BAM working fireplace!!! The couch on the other hand was a bit problematic.

I crafted some stairs to sit on, but they were crazy uncomfortable, so I tried to do something else, maybe I could use something else for the couch.

I decided to go to find some sheep to sheer for wool, the wool could probably make this thing 5 times comfier, so I decided to go and grab some real quick!

⛏⛏⛏

ALRIGHT! I sheered tons of wool, I even make a fence, and transported some of the sheep to my small farm.

It's better to bring a source over here than having to venture out far just to find animals. I lived near the outskirts of the village so I can easily expand my base slowly without having to run into other buildings around here.

With the new wool, I took the chairs (or well the wooden stairs) And put them all on the crafting table, with a bit of customization I was actually able to COMBINE the wool and stairs and craft a new item.

The crafting table called this item "Wooly stairs"... neat! I'm still going to call it a couch though, I placed the couch in front of the fireplace and sat down... Oh WOW! This is pretty comfortable!!!

After adding some carpet and other decorations to the living room like potted plants and whatnot, I decided to create a kitchen to the next room over.

Nothing crazy I needed for it though, all the food in my inventory doesn't rot or get spoiled, so I didn't NEED to build this, but it looked cool.

For the kitchen, I placed some chests up and put 2 iron doors in front em to make a fridge decoration, I also placed down some furnaces and a simple counter, to finish it off I placed down a dining table and small custom chairs for it.

Last but not least I built a bathroom, because I learned a while ago that I still need to use the restroom in this world (this situation surprised me the least)

I'm not sure how the villagers did it around here, but I will just worry about this myself. I created a toilet to sit on and dug underneath it, I placed a flow of water underneath so that all... Umm waste, will flow away from here.

I tunneled the water stream other towards a lava pool outside the village so that it would all just burn there. I didn't want anything polluting the nearby lake because I know people go fish other there, at least the lava would just burn everything up. I just hope no one decides to take the lava in the pool!

While I was at it, I also made a shower, a space unclosed with glass, I was even able to craft a glass door that works!!! I crafted a unique dispenser that looked like a showerhead, and I placed an infinite water source behind the custom showerhead.

'All right, time to try it out!' I turned it on and it worked perfectly! The water was cold of course, but it beats not bathing and catching a disease! Maybe I can make the water hot with some flint n steel, or lava, but this wasn't a necessity for this project.

I never knew I could make stuff this way in this world! There weren't customization options like this in normal Minecraft unless you add mods of course, but I'm pretty sure mods apply here.

It's honestly just like real life here, except with the unrealistic properties that only would exist in the game Minecraft of course like those awful creepers!!!

Alright, I think that's all the current essentials I need for the base, it took me 2 days to complete everything, but it was worth it.

I really felt a sense of pride in my building accomplishments in this village, however, this is just step 1 of fitting in, my next task is to gain the trust of all the locals.

As I looked around, I noticed the villagers, none of them look bald/big-nosed clones with different outfits, they too looked diverse and all looked different from one another. (thank goodness I woulda hated to befriend THOSE types of villagers)

In all conclusion to my observation here, everyone looks different as if I were looking at other people from my world, though I still wonder, if everyone looked so original, how did they know I wasn't from this world?

Best not to overthink it. I need to gain a good reputation, and not get suspicious of these guys, but of course, I will still need to be somewhat on edge here.

You never know what their next move might be, I felt like I got accepted a little TOO easy, and though I don't wanna abandon ship because my new base is awesome! I would need to leave if things get dicey, but for now, I just need to accept these new tasks of mine! (but plot a failsafe just in case ya know?)
