Chapter 3: A Blast To The Past

After a moment of awkward silence, the gods couldn't help but think about the most disrespectful human they had ever encountered. They all stood there, pondering about his attitude, which was almost as if he was wrong in the head. To make things worse, he wasn't even grateful that his ancestor had saved him; instead, he was furious.

The gods were shocked, to say the least. But what could they do? He wasn't gone, and now they had to rewind time and fix the line of causality, thanks to their fellow gods. They let out heavy breaths while doing so, but most of them were curious about where Krono had sent him in time. Sensing his colleagues' glares, Krono said, "For such a disrespectful human, I sent him somewhere that's both good and bad, right when his child is born - well, if we want to call it his."

The man, who was clearly past his prime, burst into laughter, but most of the gods looked down, feeling pity for the humans. However, the gods who overlooked darker things let out a small chuckle. Krono was by no means a good god that looked over darker things, but it seems like age has gotten to him, thought the younger and kinder gods.

They couldn't help but wonder what kind of chaos this disrespectful human would bring to the world in the future. Perhaps it was best to let him and his descendants face the consequences of their actions, for better or for worse. The gods sighed, hoping that this would be the last time they would have to deal with such a troublesome human.

"Now the gods were relishing in his pain and misery," thought Marcus as he tumbled down deeper into the hole. The only sound he could hear was their laughter. After a few minutes had passed, Marcus began to ponder if he would be reincarnated to a time when he first discovered he had no magic and then could shock everyone with his godly powers or maybe to the time he met his ex-wife so he could slap her. But alas, fate was a cruel joke to the gods, except for the god of fate, of course.

Marcus couldn't help but wonder what grand things awaited him as he fell deeper into the hole. A life full of luxury, where he could step on those weaker than him, like his siblings, and be the pompous rich boy he always dreamed of. But alas, fate had no friends, except for the god of fate, Marcus yelled.

As the voiceover, I would love to know how Marcus could hear me, but alas, we're getting off track.

Marcus opened his eyes to see his ex wife, slightly tired. He readied his hand, as he wasn't one to lie, before looking down, only to notice that she was holding a baby in her arms. He thought, "Out of all the times you could have sent me to, why this one during my academy days?"

He looked at his ex-wife and thought that maybe life wouldn't be so bad, but then remembered...

He wasn't the father, could only sigh. He was noticeably less muscular than when we last saw Marcus and a lot shorter. He was once 7 feet tall, now standing at the small height of 6.1 feet - small in his mind, a giant for everyone else. His ex wife then said, "Do you want to hold him?" Marcus looked at her and in the coldest tone said, "No. Why would I hold the baby? That's a women's job."

Of course, he didn't believe that, but he couldn't think of a better excuse despite having a 500 IQ. "Oh, let me pick the boy's name. Give me the papers," he then said. "Didn't we both decide on John?" she said with her eyes squinted. "Fine, we'll keep John. I will hand it to the doctor," Marcus said in an annoyed tone. "Of course, annoying Francis," whatever she said before pointing at a desk. "I just gave birth. You think I have the strength to move?" Francis bellowed.

"Fine, fine," Marcus said before walking out, and he then went to talk to the doctor. "Here, John Angel," Marcus said. "Oh, while you're at it, can you bring me my name?" "Sure," the doctor said, coming back with papers in hand. He handed it to Marcus. Marcus, of course, changed his middle name. After all, he wasn't known for lying, and of course, it would be chaos. Marcus wanted to test his new time magic thing, but he couldn't, not yet. So after all that was done, of course, when Marcus was almost free to breathe and settle his thoughts, he forgot his father likes to talk about offspring, so a letter arrived in his hand before he could even do anything. He was on a carriage to meet his father. He sighed at the thought. Now with a slight piece of mind, Marcus swore he would become the greatest there ever was.

Marcus was in a slump with his thoughts. Of course, he hates his family, but now he has to see them. Well, who knows? Maybe in this life, they won't be such jerks. In the middle of his thought, Marcus was interrupted as they had arrived. The same boring castle it has always been, he thought. Most would slap Marcus for calling something like this boring, but none of them have been there. It was like a cage - one you could not escape. And he was not even allowed to explore most of it as his father considered him a disgrace. That made the already small change even smaller - no friend, no happiness.

It's amazing he didn't grow up pompous and even helped people at some point. Marcus was lost in thought, but once again, the man said, "We're here," in a slightly annoyed tone, as Marcus was in la la land for more than 5 minutes. Marcus snapped out of his stupor and then slowly approached the man. If there's something Marcus did not like, it was being touched - oh, and also being interrupted. So he stepped out of the carriage slowly, but before the man could register what was happening, he found 3 of his teeth now on the floor. After all, Marcus wasn't pompous, not at all. But whoever said he wasn't cruel? A smile formed on Marcus's face as he watched the man hold his cheek from how hard he was slapped but couldn't do much and only let out a sigh of pain before bowing. After all, it would be suicide to try to hit one of the king's children, no

Marcus walked to the biggest door only to be met with a similar scene to when he was told his child wasn't his and he was kicked out of his home. Marcus could only let out a sigh at the thought. Of course, this didn't change much of what he did with his upbringing. He had once bullied one of the strongest clan's daughters, slapped her, and stripped her down to her underwear when he was younger to make a point that he was strong, well stronger than a woman who never trained in her life. Let's just say after that, even she grew so strong that she would be considered as strong as Marcus's father in terms of strength, but in terms of experience, she was lacking quite a bit.

Enough thought. Marcus brushed the thought of all the bad things he has done as a child and could only hope this conversation goes smoothly. He then entered the room to the excitement of his father, not because of him, of course, but the child. He wanted to know how strong the child was.

And just like Marcus thought, he then yelled, "Is your child strong?" Marcus could only sigh and say, "We do not know yet." Any excitement in his father's voice died as he returned to a stone-hearted man. "So, then have you grown any stronger?" his father asked.

"Yes," Marcus replied, "strong enough to beat your ass one day!" Marcus yelled, to the shock and horror of everyone there. But Marcus knew best: don't fuck with dad. So he ran after he said these words. Of course, his father could stop him in a heartbeat, but he was bored, so he let it happen. He sighed and said, "The next time he shows himself, he better prove himself worthy of that statement, or he dies." He said nonchalantly, but to Marcus, that was a sign to high tail it the fuck out of there.
