Mucia and Cadarn fled the collapsed battlefield with the rumble of falling debris behind them. 

They had been forced to use their hidden cards in a desperate attempt to survive. The fact that it had worked so well, even allowing them to kill Adelphas Narses, was an unexpected yet welcome surprise.

Cadarn's Grade 2 Relic, Ord Salainn, bore a single-use wide-area spell that temporarily conjured an enormous body of water as well as the Sea Monsters sealed within, which they had hoped to save for the later phases of the Electus Minor. 

As an 8th-class Dark Songster of the Profane Sorceries, Mucia wasn't particularly adept at direct combat. Her strength lay in providing support for allies and wreaking havoc on the enemies' mental stability through hypnotic songs. 

Hence, with her army of puppeteered magi killed and Cadarn's fighting ability more than halved, they were in a precarious situation.
