Chapter 3: Chapter 2 ( Added More)

Life in Brazil was an exciting adventure for 10-year-old Cora and Fran. The sunny weather, beautiful beaches, and delicious Brazilian snacks made every day feel like a new and exciting discovery.

Cora had made friends at her new school and loved playing soccer with her classmates.

As Fran settled into life in Brazil, he couldn't help but miss his mom and dad terribly. There were nights when the sadness would hit him, and he'd cry himself to sleep. Cora was always there with him during those challenging moments, and sometimes she'd join in, and they'd have a good cry together.

But as time passed, Fran's sadness turned into something different – anger. He was furious at the world for taking his family away and at Kate Argent for burning their house down. He didn't know what to do with all this anger but knew he couldn't keep feeling this way.

Fran's avó saw his struggle and signed him up for boxing, MMA, and gymnastics along with Cora. It was a way to let out his frustration and energy in a healthy way. Fran threw himself into these activities, punching bags, practicing flips, and challenging himself physically.

Fran's 13th birthday took an unexpected turn. As he grappled with the overwhelming anger that had plagued him for so long, his eyes suddenly started to glow with a vivid, bright purple light. His nails elongated into sharp, pointy claws, and his skin took on a dark purple hue. It was a transformation he couldn't comprehend, and he felt like his body was betraying him.

Cora, who had been with him during this startling change, immediately called for their avó to come to the living room. She knew they needed help to understand what was happening to Fran.

Their abuela rushed in, her experience and wisdom evident in her calm demeanor. She knew exactly what was going on. With a soothing voice and gentle touch, she could calm Fran down. She explained to him that he was a werejaguar.

Fran's Avo wasn't quite sure what her grandkid would be, considering his parents were from a different species. But when it turned out that he was a werejaguar, she decided to show him the ropes in

Fran couldn't believe the incredible changes happening to him. Suddenly, his senses were off the charts. He could hear sounds he'd never noticed, even from a distance. Conversations miles away seemed crystal clear, and even the softest whispers were like someone shouting in his ear.

His nose was also in overdrive. He could pick out scents from far away, whether the aroma of flowers blooming a street over or the distinct smell of someone's cooking from a few houses down. It was like he had a built-in GPS for his nose.

But that's not all. He also felt like he had leveled up physically. He had newfound strength that made everyday tasks feel effortless.

According to the Romero family's age-old tradition, Fran had to sip a special tea his grandma brewed before his first transformation. This brew had mystical properties that would plunge him into a trance-like state, allowing him to encounter his inner beast within the depths of his dreams.

Fran was up for the tea adventure, his anticipation for the transformation palpable. As he sipped the concoction, warmth, and comfort enveloped him, and his senses slowly dulled. He could feel himself slipping away into a dreamlike state.

In the recesses of his mind, he found himself standing amidst a lush, untamed jungle surrounded by towering trees and a symphony of exotic creatures.

His attention was immediately drawn to a sudden, graceful movement in the distance. He turned to witness a magnificent white jaguar fixated upon him, its eyes unwavering and intense. As their gazes locked, Fran felt a surge of electricity coursing through his being, realizing that the jaguar's eyes emanated a bright, pulsating purple light.

Inexplicably, Fran's own eyes began to emit the same intense radiance.

The jaguar began a deliberate circuit around him, and Fran was filled with an overwhelming sense of wonder and awe. He couldn't help but marvel at the creature's sheer power and beauty, a captivating fusion of the wild and the domestic. A mesmerizing fluidity and control marked every movement of the beast.

As the jaguar drew nearer, Fran's heart raced within his chest. He had never been in such proximity to a wild animal, let alone one that represented his inner self. Yet, something about the jaguar instilled a profound sense of familiarity, a connection that eluded explanation.

The jaguar gently nudged Fran's hand with its nose, and a wave of warmth washed over him as though the jaguar was communicating on a plane beyond words.

Staring into the eyes of the jaguar, Fran experienced an overwhelming sense of kinship, a connection he had never before encountered. It was as though he was peering into a mirror, observing his essence reflected in the creature's gaze.

A low, resonant purr rumbled from the jaguar beneath him, filling the air around them with soothing vibrations. Fran was imbued with an overwhelming sense of tranquility, as if the burdens of doubt and fear had been lifted from his shoulders.

--------

Fran's Avo was an expert in the ways of the Werejaguars, and she wasted no time teaching him their unique rituals. As she explained, Werejaguars had the incredible power to create, modify, and manipulate patterns of all kinds. These rituals were like the secret sauce that made their abilities even more potent.

One of the most fascinating things she showed him was how to make a berserker. According to her, it was part of a Werejaguar's nature to have a berserker at their side. These weren't your run-of-the-mill bodyguards; they were transformed individuals, even supernatural beings, turned into super-charged protectors through Werejaguar rituals.

The transformation turned these individuals into powerhouses, boosting their strength, agility, and ferocity to epic levels. They became the ultimate allies and guardians of the Werejaguar community, ready to defend their kind with unrivaled might.

Fran soaked up this knowledge like a sponge.

------------

Fran had ventured into the jungle to gather some herbs for his Avo. She had plans to teach him a new ritual, and he wanted to ensure everything was perfect. As he continued his task, the rustling leaves and chirping birds provided a serene backdrop to his herb-picking mission.

Just as he was about to call it a day, he heard a distinct snap of a twig and the unmistakable sound of a heartbeat. His senses sharpened instantly, and he knew he wasn't alone. He scanned the surroundings with caution, wondering who could be lurking nearby.

His voice rang out confidently, "I know you're out there! Come on out!" The jungle held its breath for a few tense moments, and Fran's heart raced with anticipation.

Then, emerging from the dense foliage, a figure came into view. It was no ordinary figure; it was a Kanima.

Fran stood his ground, his eyes locked with the kanima's. This mix of predator vibes and a kind of longing in the kanima's eyes puzzled him. It was like a wild dance between curiosity and caution.

As the kanima got closer, Fran decided to play it cool. He figured if this creature wanted to eat him, it would've attacked by now, right? So, he just stayed put, watching and waiting.

The kanima extended a hand, a gesture that spoke of a strange kind of invitation. Fran hesitated for a moment, his mind racing with questions and curiosity. But he decided to leap of faith and extended his hand to meet the kanima's.

------------

Gabriel was only 14 years old when the beast attacked him. It was a dark evening as he made his way back home, the light fading rapidly. He couldn't pinpoint the exact moment when the creature pounced, but suddenly, he felt something slam into him, sharp teeth sinking into his flesh.

Panic surged through him, and Gabriel fought back desperately. In his struggle, he managed to find a jagged rock and thrust it into the creature's eyes. The beast, with its menacing red eyes, let out a pained howl as it released its grip on Gabriel.

Seizing the opportunity, Gabriel wasted no time and made a run for it, putting as much distance as he could between himself and the wounded beast. Every step was filled with fear and adrenaline as he sprinted away from the horrifying encounter, leaving the memory of that night etched forever in his mind.

Gabriel lost consciousness and eventually found himself back at the group home where his parents had abandoned him when he was just five years old. However, before he could piece together what had happened, he blacked out once more.

When he woke up the next day, he was in for a shock. His wounds from the beast's attack had completely healed, and he felt stronger and healthier than he could ever remember. It was as if the whole ordeal had never happened.

But as days turned into weeks, Gabriel started experiencing bizarre episodes. He would find himself losing time, drifting into a state of unconsciousness. One moment, he'd be in bed at the group home, and the next, he'd wake up dirty and disoriented in the woods, with no recollection of how he got there or what had transpired during those missing hours. It was becoming increasingly clear that something extraordinary was happening to him, something he couldn't explain or control.

During one of these disorienting episodes, Gabriel stumbled upon a scene that would change his life forever. He found himself in the woods once again, but this time, he encountered Fran.

—---------

As the mysterious connection between master and servant was forged between Gabriel and Fran, a surge of power coursed through Gabriel's body, overwhelming him. He collapsed, unconscious and unable to bear the intensity of the newfound bond.

(Gabriel POV)

"Grandma, he's awake," the girl exclaimed with relief as she watched Gabriel slowly regain consciousness.

A beautiful older lady entered the room, her warm eyes filled with concern and affection. She approached Gabriel's bedside, her voice gentle as she said, "Welcome back, dear. I'm Esme, but you may call me Avo. You've had quite an ordeal, haven't you?"

Yeah, what's happening to me?" I asked, my voice filled with confusion and concern.

"Oh dear, you don't know," Esme said, her expression a mix of sympathy and worry. I shook my head in confusion, desperation creeping into my voice as I explained, "I keep losing time and waking up in the woods."

Esme's eyes widened in understanding, and she uttered, "Oh, querido," her voice tinged with sorrow.

Just then, a boy entered the room, and I felt an inexplicable connection with him. The boy introduced himself, saying, "Hello, I'm Fran, and this is Cora."

Still bewildered, I couldn't help but blurt out, "Why am I here?"

Fran exchanged a knowing glance with Esme before explaining, "Well, you passed out."

Esme gently explained, "You're a Kanima, darling. A beast attacked you and bit you, and then you miraculously healed and felt ten times better." I couldn't help but nod in response. She explained the unique nature of my transformation and the intricate supernatural world I had been thrust into.

"You should understand something about being a Kanima," she continued. "The Kanima is a social creature, but unlike the wolf, which seeks a pack, the Kanima seeks a master."

As soon as she mentioned that the Kanima seeks a master, my eyes involuntarily turned towards Fran, and in response, his eyes gleamed with a mesmerizing shade of purple. "Woah," I exclaimed, taken aback by the unexpected display of supernatural power.

Esme then inquired, "Do you have anywhere to go?" I glanced around the room sheepishly and admitted, "I live in a group home." She nodded understandingly and firmly declared, "You're staying here until you get control of yourself and can become more comfortable." With her words, a sense of relief washed over me, knowing I had found a temporary home and a path to understanding and mastering my newfound abilities
