"I don't know if you know this, but your mother just told me she's something I just heard of today. I know she must have not told you because she sees you as a child. And probably doesn't want to tell you too many things, she has no understanding of. From the past few days of training you two, I know you can handle anything..." Arthur continued
"Do you know about the red elves..." he asked
"No..." They both answered quietly
"Well, I don't know what they are either, but that's what she is... And she needs our support more than ever... I need to go and find a way to help her awaken that. We need everything to face her father and whoever is backing him... Do you understand?" he asked again and the boys gave a tacit nod.
"When will you be going?" Nate asked
"After the people search this town and do not find Anna... For these few days, am going to train you both hard. I'll also lay out the training you are to do every day after am gone. I won't keep long, but after am gone, be sure to keep on training and look after your mother... When I come back, we'll go on beast hunting. Actual combat and real life and death fighting are what will help you two grow stronger... Your mother, grandmother, and I may not be able to win against your grandfather and the man behind him for now, but maybe you two will..." He spoke out, encouraging the boys.
Lucian clenched his fist. He had to grow stronger. He will never forgive that so-called father of his mother and whomever he is working with, for putting his mother in this situation... If they are not dead, then he's going to find them and kill them himself...he will destroy all of them.
The murderous aura coming out of Lucian was felt by both Arthur and Nate. Nate became even more worried. Today must be a bad day for Lucian's emotions to be riled up twice. It was a miracle the beast in him had not reacted. Of course, it was because Raphael had sealed him up. Something both Lucian and Nate didn't know of.
Nate held Lucian's fist and squeezed it tightly to reassure him that it was okay. Feeling his best friend's palm covering his, Lucian calmed down.
Arthur saw this little interaction and smiled. Their friendship was one of a kind...
Somewhere on the porch of another cottage, bigger than that of Lucian's. Two young people stood in a heated argument. Looking at the front view of the cottage, one will gasp in awe. The walls were made of stones and were covered in ivy. The wooden door had a carved arch on it and on either side of the paved path to the door, a garden was seen. It was full of green herbs and different colorful flowers. One has to know that witches had a thing for herbs and strange flowers. Overall, the cottage evoked a sense of magic.
"What is wrong with you? Why did you behave like that in front of my friends?..." Diana asked out loud, looking angry.
"Your friends?? You just met them today. Do you even know who they are? They are called freaks in this town. People don't even sell to them. If you want to live in peace here, you better stay away from them..." Darian shouted back, looking more infuriated than her.
"So you agree with how people treat them? Weren't you just bullied today? Aren't you being a coward behaving this way?..." Diana asked, feeling annoyed
"Are you calling me a coward? That's right, I have no magic or powers to burn people's clothes as I wish. You're the most powerful one, that's why even grandmother chooses to train you so you can go to the academy and fulfill their lifelong mission. I, on the other hand, can just stay here and keep being ignored by people... " Darian spouted and entered the cottage, slamming the door behind him...
Diana stood alone on the porch. The sadness that flashed in her eyes was ignored. There is something that has become more important to her now. Those eyes...those enchanting golden eyes...
She wanted to see them again...
These few days, Arthur trained the boys hard, not really giving them a chance to rest. The boys were also determined to become strong. They understood the situation and wished to protect their loved ones, so they were willing to put in their all. Unless they were going to bed, they did not remove the weighted sack bags from their waist.
On another end, four carriages had managed to reach the entrance gate of valley town. The gate was being guarded by a few local guards. They had donned knight uniforms that looked rather shabby.
"Your Highness, we are here..." John said upon seeing the gate and the guards.
"Get down and show them the scroll..." Andrew ordered.
John got down from the carriage and walked toward the curious guards. The guards looked nervous after seeing how distinguished his knight uniform was. The badge indicated that he was directly from the palace, which scared the guards. Have they been caught for their inefficient behavior at their post already?
John walked over and handed the guard on the left the scroll, because he looked more collected than the shaking one on the right.
After the guard saw what was in the scroll, he calmed down and requested for the gate to be opened.
John waved his hand and the carriages drove passed him in.
Then turning to the guard who looked so humble, he said...
"Also, I'll like you to send us to the mayor's house..."
"Ri...right away sir..." he responded nervously
John went back to Andrew and reported to him. The guard was brought along.
When the guard saw Andrew, he become even more nervous. The attire he had donned, no doubt told everyone he was royal and his aura was as intimidating as one.
"Your Highness, I brought this one here to direct us to the Mayor..." John said pointing at the guard.
"Alright, let's start moving. The rest of the carriages can wait... After speaking to the mayor, we'll begin the search..." Andrew said indifferently.
