Chapter 106: Dryads

Despite the cowardly behavior of the elf, he was still a trained warrior. When his life was threatened, he immediately retaliated, placing the bush between him and them and piercing out with his spear.

"Stay back!" he shouted.

He knew he didn't stand a chance outnumbered two to one, and being a man, he didn't have access to magic to even the odds. His only hope was to stall until the Dryads arrived.

Essenla jumped back, the spear's blade narrowly avoiding her stomach, and chopped at the weapon's pole with her goblin halberd.

Her blade only cut through halfway before stopping, locking the two weapons together.

Morne stepped around the bush as the elf tried to stab forward with his caught spear, swinging at the elf and forcing him to drop his weapon with a yelp.

The elf stumbled back, ducking behind a tree as his heart raced. "The Dryads won't let you leave alive!" he warned, his voice a strained warble. "But if you start running now, maybe you'll have a chance!"
