The moment those words fell from her mouth, the air in the room changed.

The tension became visible, even though neither of them moved.

They were both frozen in their seats.

Even though the night sky outside the tree house was clear, no stars appeared. The world was dark, as though some giant hand had pulled a curtain over them.

"Clyde has always hated your father, ever since the day they met. They were friends once, but something happened to change their relationship forever. This might have been the reason he couldn't tell the fake from the real; maybe even why he didn't suspect anything was wrong until it was too late."

Tristan's eyes narrowed as he listened to Gina speak: "He will stop at nothing to take what your father and the original Clyde have built, and now that he knows of my involvement, he will be coming after you next. I need you to protect yourself."
