Chapter 44: Panic ensues

"Is there anything you wish to say?" Mrs. Leighton asked in an icy tone that made Evelyn's stomach churn.

"No, ma'am," Luna managed to reply, her voice shaky. Evelyn nodded vigorously in agreement, not trusting herself to speak under the woman's stern gaze.

A tense silence filled the room as Mrs. Leighton scrutinized them for a moment longer before she huffed and moved on to address the others, her displeasure evident in her stiff posture.

Despite her relief, Evelyn couldn't shake the feeling of dread that settled in her stomach, her mind racing with the possible punishments they might face later.

Mrs. Leighton's eyes swept over the trainees, pausing for a second longer on Evelyn and Luna before she addressed the room once again.

"Trainees," she began, her voice regaining its usual sternness, "Remember your etiquette and respect. We are here to serve Master Tristan and his guests with the highest level of decorum and professionalism."
