Chapter 146: Secret Affair Of The Lady

As morning arrived, the guards stationed outside the guestroom had been dismissed, their duty fulfilled. 

The hand of a concerned maid rapped on the door, breaking the silence. With each knock, there was no response from the guest inside. The maid exchanged a worried glance with her companion, uncertainty clouding their expressions.

"What should we do? The lady doesn't seem to be waking up," the maid inquired, her voice laced with concern and a hint of urgency.

"Perhaps we should just go in? The door isn't locked, right?" her fellow maid suggested, contemplating the best course of action.

The maid reached for the door handle, her fingers wrapping around it. With a gentle twist, the door handle moved. She turned to her companion again, shaking her head in silent agreement, confirming their shared assumption.
