"Dame Verns, please accept my sincere apologies for the incident during the soldiers' inspection. I want to assure you that I had no intention of making any jokes about your appearance. It was a spontaneous act," Noah spoke up, breaking the silence.
Clara paused momentarily before responding, "I realise now that I was also at fault for my rash accusations towards you. Please accept my apologies as well."
The knight said, "I was impressed when I first heard about you. It's not often that you see a woman involved in knighthood. The lady who spoke of you praised your strength and talent, and after meeting you, I can see why."
Clara's face lit up at the knight's compliment. It was the first time he had ever said anything positive about her.
