Chapter 101: Success! Oops, Wrong move.

As Philip strolled through the heart of the imitated Bryxton City, he passed by a large garbage can where he encountered two versions of Gerald at different stages of life.

It was at this moment that Philip had the chance to closely observe the younger Gerald. 

The child was grimy, his face marred by a black eye on the left side. Additionally, his malnourished body bore horrific scars, some of which oozed with fresh blood beneath his pallid skin.

Seeing this, it didn't take Philip long to deduce the source of the child's suffering. 

"It seems Gerald hails from an abusive family," he thought, recognizing the signs of a troubled household with a tyrannical father and a submissive mother.

The child Gerald seemed to notice Philip but paid him no heed, as though the burly man were invisible and insignificant. Instead, he continued to embrace the teenage Gerald, burying his small head in the older boy's chest.
