Chapter 120: Chapter 114- SS:1- Motivating

These are the small interactions of the people around Haru who came in contact while he was in a coma. I felt this was important to write since it would help build future relations rather than dropping the bomb at once.

Enjoy reading~

-------------

It has been two days since Haru fell into battle and has yet to open his eyes.

The doctors and healers, who assessed his situation, all said that his body wasn't in any kind of danger nor did he show to have any identifiable disease. Although his brain was in a near-numb state, it seemed his other organs were working quite well.

The doctors assured Haru's parents that Haru would recover once he rested enough and regained his magic to a certain point. However, being a mother, there was nothing that could have calmed Yumiko other than seeing her son awakened.

When she saw his unconscious state, she cried and wept a lot—to the point she fell unconscious and had to be shifted to another hospital room.

Seeing the situation and considering the fact that Jinah was not going to return until Haru woke up, Park Kyung-Hye also traveled to Japan with her son and visited the hospital.

"Everything will be fine, Jinah...." Having her hand resting over her daughter's shoulder, Kyung-Hye tried comforting her.

There were three more people in the room who also looked at Jinah in concern.

"You should rest for some time, Jinah. You haven't slept a wink for two days..." Reiji uttered those words quite worriedly.

Although he knew that Jinah was now awakened(unsure of how) it still should be physically exhausting for her to keep looking at his son without having any rest.

(A/N:- Sugimoto Reiji is multilingual.)

"I am fine, uncle. Thank you for worrying about me." Jinah offered a soft smile as she looked at her mother and said,

"Mom...have you brought my clothes?" Kyung-Hye looked hesitant about something but soon nodded.

The room went silent after that, as everyone turned their eyes to the calmly resting face of the patient.

Soon Jin-Woo decided to break the silence as he said, "Mom, let's go and check in the hotel. The luggage is still in the cloakroom."

Hearing those words, Reiji suggested, "Umm, if you don't mind why not stay at my house for a few days? Doctors are going to discharge Haru and shift him to house monitoring. Since Jinah would be staying with him, how about you all stay there as well?"

Jinah was surprised to hear that Haru's treatment would be done at the house now but she didn't say anything and allowed her father to object.

"We would be bothering you a lot. How about we find the nearest hotel to your house?" Hearing Il-Hwan's suggestion, his wife remained silent and so did Jin-Woo. In the first place, Jin-Woo would be moving a lot so he wasn't troubled when his parents stayed.

However, Reiji's following words left no room for Il-Hwan to object,

"Please don't mind that. There are enough rooms for you all to stay as you like...and, I may sound selfish, but in these times, I wish more people to stay around."

A defeated smile extended Reiji's lips as he requested the other two

Il-Hwan glances at his wife before responding, "Then, please excuse our intrusion."

Once Jin-Woo led his parents along with Reiji to the room where Yumiko was admitted he walked out of the hospital to buy something refreshing to drink for his sister. The hospital canteen served mostly everything bland.

However, just as he walked out, he sensed a profound presence approaching him; urging Jin-Woo to turn around and witness a familiar figure walking in his direction, with her head hanging low.

She was wearing casual clothes unlike how he was used to seeing her.

Ankle-length denim blue jeans with a black shirt and sneakers seemed to be a casual outfit for a person who didn't want to stick out of the crowd. However, her beautiful face and blond hair were enough to attract quite many eyes to her direction.

Cha Hae-In, who was walking toward the hospital in a daze, sensed a familiar scent before she immediately lifted her face and was stunned to find Sung Jin-Woo's face inches away from her.

"Eh...ah..." She jumped slightly back her face heating up. After that day when she held him in her arms and transported him to the hospital, this was the first time she was meeting Jin-Woo.

That day...she held his warm and stiff body in her arms...and heard his calm breathing...

"Hunter Cha...are you alright? Your face seems unnaturally red."

"Yes?! I am quite fine! No bad thoughts."

Jin-Woo couldn't help smiling at the display. The woman was so strong yet so adorable that it made her look more attractive.

However, Jin-Woo didn't tease her anymore and asked, "Are you here to see him?"

There was no confusion about who this 'he' was, which Jin-Woo talked about.

Hae-In's fluster soon disappeared as she sobered up and calmly nodded.

"I went to the Japanese Hunter Guild some hours ago...they seem to be in trouble but managing somehow." Cha Hae-In uttered in a grieving tone, remembering the situation back at the headquarters.

The death of their strongest hunter—Goto Ryuji, along with the S-ranked, Kenzo Tanaka had left a great impact on the chairman however he was able to regain control of the situation thanks to the presence of Haru's father.

"Well, not only Japan but many countries feel traumatized after what they saw two days ago. The number of gates appearing at the same time across the globe...by far this was the greatest threat humanity has ever come across yet remained unscathed."

"...all because Hunter Nanase was there...and only he was able to do anything."

Hearing Cha Hae-In's remark, spoken in a lost tone, Jin-Woo looked at her in concern.

The look in her eyes was familiar. He has seen that look in Reiji's eyes as well. The emotion of regret and helplessness was clearly burdening the woman in front of him.

Jin-Woo seemed at a loss here. He didn't know how he could console Cha or what he should say that wouldn't end up offending her.

In the end, Jin-Woo brought his hand over her shoulder to gain her attention before he spoke in a warm tone,

"Please take care of yourself, Hunter Cha. When Haru was around, we felt safe. And now when he is recovering it's our duty to keep him safe."

Hearing his words, it seemed a new amber of motivation ignited in her violet eyes as Cha Hae-In looked at him with a determined look.

Jin-Woo seemed satisfied by the change in her expression as he warmly smiled at the girl.

The silence they shared held a lot of meaning. The mutual feelings between the two were elevating with time. And soon it was going to transform into something more meaningful...

—To be continued.
