Chapter 31: Home Moving 5

Alice had managed to escape from the Denali coven's house when Esme called Rosalie and Edythe to see some clothes that Paul had created for the female vampires of the Denali coven. Rosalie and Edythe thought that Alice would be the most excited to see the clothes that Paul had created and didn't worry about her.

Alice really wanted to see the clothes, but she, who was always paying attention to what Paul said, had heard that he was going to the river to do something. Emmett, Jasper, and Edward wouldn't follow him, and the vampires of the Denali coven knew that Paul would be practicing his blacksmithing skills.

So Alice thought it was a rare opportunity for her to finally be able to talk to Paul. After all, she met and fell in love with him 12 years ago and never even had the chance to talk to Paul alone.

For a vampire, it was easy to find a river with the hearing they had, so Alice just followed the river and soon found Paul, who was working with metal. She remembered that Emmett said that Paul was a blacksmith.

Alice didn't want to disturb Paul and just wanted to see him working. But as soon as she saw him working with metal, Paul looked up and saw her coming and smiled. Alice didn't know what to do and stood still.

"Alice, I didn't expect to see you here," said Paul when he saw that Alice was standing there looking at him.

"I wanted to go for a walk in the snow and heard a noise around here, so I was curious and came to see what it was," said Alice.

Paul understood that Alice had come to look for him and didn't want to provoke her. He thought before that someone had sent her to call him. Paul also wanted to talk to Alice for a long time, so he stopped working on the metal that was still heating up.

"Sit down here, so we can talk," said Paul, pointing to a chair he had made when he set up the workshop.

Alice sat in the chair and waited for Paul to continue working. But when she saw that he was looking at her, Alice understood that Paul also wanted to talk to her, so she began to speak with him.

"What were you doing with that metal?" asked Alice.

"I was starting to heat it up, I was going to heat this metal until it started to melt, so I could put it in a mold and start making a Katana," explained Paul.

"A Katana? Is it the Japanese sword that's shown in movies?" asked Alice.

"Yes, it's a type of weapon similar to a sword. There are several types of weapons used in the past, cold steel was used in wars before the use of gunpowder became common. In Japan, they used Katanas and other types of weapons too," said Paul.

"It must be fun to be able to make weapons. I've always liked fashion, and that's why I learned to make clothes and dresses," said Alice.

"If you want, I can teach you how to make Katanas in the future. It may take a few years for you to learn, but at least you can learn some tools," said Paul.

"Really! It would be very cool to learn how to make a Katana, I definitely want to learn," said Alice.

"Then I can teach you when we go to our new home. You said you liked fashion? I also learned to make some dresses and clothes when I took the Fashion Design course," said Paul.

"Yes, Kate and Tanya were talking about the clothes you made before. I like to create clothes too, but it's very difficult and time-consuming, so I still buy most of my clothes," said Alice.

Alice said she liked making clothes and wanted to learn to be a blacksmith, but in reality, she knew she was a very restless person. It was hard for her to focus on something for several hours, even the paintings she made took her a few days to finish painting.

But if she could stay with Paul for a while longer, she would learn to be a blacksmith and could create some tools with him, especially if she could see Paul create some Katanas. After all, she liked to observe.

"You can continue to make the Katanas you were making, I want to see how a blacksmith works to start learning," said Alice.

Paul agreed and resumed heating the metal to make the Katanas. He had already created some Katanas before and had three more to make. Paul didn't know how much time he had before going to Forks, so he wanted to finish making the presents faster.

Paul was not used to working with someone watching him, but since he said he would teach Alice to be a blacksmith, he had to get used to someone watching him work. After a while, he managed to concentrate on the work.

It took Paul longer to learn how to make Katanas in Alaska. In the cold weather, it was harder to keep the metal hot enough to shape, and he had to be quicker when taking the metal out of the fire to hammer it.

Being quick was not a problem for him as he was a vampire, but Paul still had to control his strength so as not to ruin the metal while making the Katana. That's why he created several poor-quality Katanas in the past.

While Paul worked, Alice looked admiringly at him, concentrated. Alice thought he looked even cooler when he was focused on making the Katana. Alice wanted to ask Paul to make a Katana for her too.

But she knew it was better to wait, especially now that Paul was creating a Katana for Irina and the vampires of the Denali coven. It was better for him to make a Katana for her in the future and make one just for her.

After several hours, Paul had managed to make a Katana and thought it was best to go home. After all, the other vampires knew he had gone out to work and must have realized that Alice was with him.

Even though Paul was already done with Irina, he didn't want to seem like he had stayed with Alice while still in her house. That would be disrespectful to Irina and the other vampires of the Denali coven.

Alice wasn't worried about that, nor was she worried about the scolding her siblings would give her. After all, Alice was able to talk to Paul for several hours and even watched him work. She was just happy.

Rosalie and Edythe saw Paul arriving with Alice and didn't know what to say. They realized Alice must have gone where he was while they were looking at clothes, but they knew they couldn't stop Alice forever.

I hope you enjoyed the chapter, if the conversations seem awkward or the characters seem rude, it's because my English isn't that good, it was supposed to be a more casual conversation.

This is a chapter with Alice and Paul starting to get to know each other, after they leave the Denali Coven house, they won't take long to start dating, so other conversations like that will be with them already together.
