In an instant, Diana's hand suddenly ripped through the chest of the monster, before turning the latter's body to completely mush just a moment later.
Only a fraction of a moment after doing that, Diana arrived in front of the next monster, before doing something similar, instantly crushing its body to pieces.
Although the monsters were much more resistant to damage than normal humans, as a former half vampire herself, Diana knew best how to deal with foes that could regenerate.
That way was very simple, crush them to pieces, completely destroy them so that they don't have anything to regenerate from.
Unless it was someone like Diana, as long as their entire body was smashed into one hundred little pieces, they would not be able to live, no matter how perverted their regeneration was.
In just under one tenth of a second, every single monster inside the room was suddenly turned to mush, not having even a single limb left untouched.
In the end, it was as Beatrice had expected, these half-human monsters did not have even a sliver of a chance at survival, and quickly died.
Looking at the scene in front of her, Mikhail couldn't help but touch his brain, as an angry look appeared on his face.
'How stupid of me, assuming that since these monsters are half human, their human biology was maintained...' thought Mikhail, cursing himself because of his completely rookie mistake.
In fact, Mikhail could not really be blamed for this, as the 'monsters', still looked primarily human, making it not very obvious that they could survive such things.
Even so, the old doctor held himself to a much higher standard than this, that's how he had managed to live throw the bloodiest parts of the destruction of the Soviet Union, through perfection.
A moment later, Mikhail let out a depressed sigh before slightly bowing to Diana.
"Lady Diana, I am sorry, my incompetence has put us all in danger," said Mikhail, causing Diana to shake her head.
"Don't worry about that, worry about how you could make it, so this never happens again, we have too much to deal with right now to be able to blame you, I don't want to come here and see you looking like these monsters," said Diana as she cleaned her fist of blood using a piece of cloth.
Upon hearing the latter part of Diana's sentence, Mikhail couldn't help but take in a deep breath, realizing her meaning.
Diana suspected that something had managed to get out.
"What do you propose, lady Diana?" asked Mikhail as he looked at Diana.
"You need to 'test' every single person that has had contact with your lab in the past few days," said Diana, emphasizing the word 'test'.
...
The very next day,
As he opened his eyes and stared at the ceiling above him, Dmitri, who was usually quite stoic, couldn't help but slightly clutch his head, clearly in distress.
"This headache's so annoying..." mumbled Dmitri as he got out of the bed and walked to the communal bathroom, where he washed his face and brushed his teeth.
As for fully washing, Dmitri did that last night, before sleeping, and didn't feel like doing it again.
As such, Dmitri, who now felt a little bit better, walked out of the barracks, which seemed awfully empty for this time of day.
Although Dmitri got up very early in the morning, much earlier than most of his comrades, by now, several of them should have been up, but even so, Dmitri saw nobody.
But even so, because he had just woken up, and was still plagued by that annoying headache, Dmitri wasn't able to notice this fact, and simply walked out of the barracks like an idiot.
The moment Dmitri walked out of the barracks building, three different men, each dressed in hazmat suits, immediately jumped on him and incapacitated him in an instant.
One of the men then injected a syringe into Dmitri, knocking him out a few moments later, before dragging him away from the barracks.
...
As he opened his eyes and looked at the small enclosure that he was in, Dmitri couldn't help but begin going through his pockets before letting out a faint sigh.
Noticing that the twenty-four men around him were familiar, Dmitri lightly chuckled.
"I shouldn't have accepted looking after that 'thing'..." mumbled Dmitri as he noticed that everything in his pockets, other than a pack of cigarettes and a matchbox, had been taken out.
The reason why Dmitri could recognize everyone around him was because he had worked with them on that 'thing'.
Right now, the middle-aged Dmitri was wrongly assuming that he was about to be silenced, unaware of the fact that things were in a much, much worse state.
A moment later, just as Dmitri lit up his cigarette, hundreds of bullets suddenly began pouring into the enclosure, immediately tearing through the bodies of every single one of the men present.
In an instant, three men fell to the ground, curiously though, even after dozens of bullets had been fired into the bodies of every other man, none of them seemed to die.
Dmitri, who had at least thirty bullets in him, could still clearly feel the smoke of the cigarette going through his lungs, at least before it was blow away by a bullet that pierced said lung.
...
As he stared at the screen in front of him, Mikhail couldn't help frown, before turning to a man manning a computer.
"300 degrees"
After the man adjusted something on the computer, the temperature inside the enclosure began rising rapidly.
In under a minute, the temperature inside the enclosure reached 100 degrees, the boiling point of water, before climbing further.
In under 5 minutes, the 300 degree goal had been reached, but even so, none of the men seemed to falter.
"1000 degrees" said Mikhail, who, by now, was keenly interested in the temperature resistance of these 'monsters'.
No matter what, Mikhail would find a weakness to exploit.
