Chapter 19: DEFEAT OF ANNA

After the awakening, everyone started going to the arena to see the competition of the younger generation among the branch clan members and the top 5 will be given a chance to challenge one of the direct descendants of the clan and also a perfect grade bloodline pill.

The direct descendants don't participate in the competition to give a chance for the branch members to shine and can even select one of them as their subordinate if they agree to it.

Anna also went to participate in the competition, as she was still a branch member until her name was written in the direct descendants family tree which will be done after the competition.

Many branch members looked at Anna with envy but didn't dare to say anything and Anna was also looking very happy, as only direct descendants have the right to fight for the family head position of the main clan.

I went to sit beside David and Lucas and started watching the competition.

" Hi, Arthur " said Lucas and David when they saw me and we started talking with each other.

Meanwhile, the competition was going on in the arena, and after three hours, the referee announced the winner and top 5 of the competition.

" The winner of the competition is Anna Red Dragon," said the referee in a loud voice.

After which the top 5 were called onto the stage and were asked whom they want to challenge among the direct descendants.

Among the top 5, three members abstained from challenging and two members chose the ones whom they want to fight against.

David stood up from his seat as he was challenged and went to fight against Dustin who ranked second in the competition.

After 10 minutes, the fight ended with a win for David without any suspense as the gap between their skills was very high.

After the fight, instead of leaving the stage, David went to the side of Dustin who had many injuries on his body, and asked him if he wanted to become his subordinate.

When Dustin heard David's proposal, he immediately nodded his head without any second thought as it was a very precious opportunity for him who has only B Rank potential to become a subordinate of a direct descendant.

Finally, it was Anna's turn to choose a person she wanted to fight among the three of us.

" I want to fight with Young master Arthur," said Anna, specifying me as a young master, since she was still a branch member for now.

As soon as my name was spoken, a smile crept on my face since even in the original story, she chose Arthur as her opponent and made a draw with him in the fight making herself a name in the social circle of the Empire.

When the Elder turned his face towards me, I nodded my head and went to the stage.

" Now the match between Arthur Red Dragon and Anna Red Dragon will commence, " said the referee in a booming voice and everyone was excited to see the strength of the young boy who got an SS Rank potential in both paths.

As soon as I came to the arena, Anna bowed her head and greeted me to give a positive outlook in front of everyone and said

" Thanks for accepting my request, young master Arthur " in a humble tone.

" To think Young Miss Anna is so humble even after becoming a direct descendant," said one of the onlookers as if he became a fan of her.

" Yes "

I became amused looking at her antics but when I think about the things she will be doing in the future to achieve her dream of becoming the head of the clan, a ruthless look appeared on my face.

And I merely nodded my head in response and took a fighting posture.

" Young master looks very different from rumors circulating in the Empire," Anna said and took out a spear from her space ring.

" Young master Arthur, please go easy on me, " said Anna in an innocent tone and we both started attacking at the same time.

And Anna was trying to maintain some distance while trying to attack with her spear whenever she got an opportunity.

At the start of the fight, we looked like we were of equal strength and Anna also started gaining confidence that she could at least make a draw with me.

" I didn't think Young Miss Anna would be able to fight equally with Young master Arthur," said someone among the crowd and many nodded their heads.

But people who were above D Rank instantly found that Arthur was only toying with her and already knew that it would end in Anna's defeat.

When Anna heard their words, a smile beamed on her face and started attacking even more aggressively as if she wanted to gain more attention among the higher-ups of the clan.

And started using the cloud spear arts and her whole attack pattern which she was using until now turned opposite.

And slowly a mild fog started appearing on the stage and my senses started decreasing.

When I saw the expression of Anna who looked as if she was going to win, I immediately moved my body toward her at a speed which she was not able to match up.

" It's time to finish this match," I said and before Anna could comprehend what I was saying, I used the Red Dragon's fist second move " mountain strike " and the fog which was covering the stage immediately evaporated by the heat coming from my hand.

And the fire energy covered my hand in the vague image of a dragon arm.

When the father and other Elders saw my fingers that slightly turned into the form of dragon claws, they were surprised at the progression of my martial arts.

Since it is only possible when a person reaches at least 20% progress toward an advanced level.

After which what followed was a one-sided battle and after one minute Anna collapsed in the arena without any ounce of strength to fight back.

" Young master Arthur wins this battle " said the referee but when he looked at the face of Anna, he couldn't help but give a look of pity as she had several broken teeth and many injuries on her body.

Everyone in the crowd were shocked by the strength shown by me and started cheering for me without giving any attention to Anna who was defeated.

" Looks like no matter how skilled Miss Anna is, in front of a real genius she amounts to nothing," said the same people among the crowd who first praised Anna at the start of the battle.

When Anna heard them, she showed a resentful look towards me for a second but immediately replaced it with a smile that looked very ugly due to her broken teeth and the injuries on her face.

" Looks like I need to work even harder to defeat the young master, " said Anna, showing an innocent look as much as possible but I didn't bother to talk with her and went to my seat.
