Chapter 96: Chapter 96: The Fury of the Demon King

Sargeras was feeling great.

His plan was about to, no, it had already succeeded. In his mind, there was nothing that could stop the power of the demons from invading the world of Azeroth.

The strongest guardian, the Star Mage Medivh, was now his possession.

The interfering Council of Tirisfal was nearly wiped out.

And the previous guardian, the one who thought he had defeated Sargeras but was actually being used by his schemes, Aegwynn, had already shed tears of failure before him.

The dragons? Ha, there was already a complete plan to deal with those giant lizards.

The Night Elves? Those conservative, thick-headed folks wouldn't move a muscle in their territory unless it was invaded.

Using the orcs, a warlike race influenced by demonic power, was a much better option than invading directly.

Sargeras licked his lips, as if savoring the long-awaited taste of revenge, blood, and pain.

When he saw the green-skinned orcs, now demonized, killing humans of all ages and genders, whether armed or not, whether roaring in anger or crying out in despair, Sargeras felt great.

That fiery stimulation flowed into his soul, which had been helpless for so long after his failure. The exhilarating taste excited every fiber of his evil soul to sing.

He believed that his plan, which had taken hundreds of years to prepare, was perfect. It was because of this that he could calmly stay in the impregnable Karazhan and watch these ants go to their doom as if he were a god.

But now, a tiny ant dared to say, "As long as I kill you, I can close the Dark Portal"?

For a moment, Sargeras didn't react.

The next moment, he suddenly realized that this tiny creature, who had once slightly piqued his interest, was right!

Yes! The cross-world transmission of the Dark Portal was not particularly stable.

In fact, the entire Dark Portal was like a telephone, with a caller and a receiver. If something happened to Medivh, the caller, the spatial coordinates would immediately become chaotic. Sargeras's plan to have the orcs continuously invade Azeroth would naturally be ruined.

Of course, the premise was that these ants could really kill him.

After realizing this, the Medivh controlled by Sargeras immediately showed an intriguing smile and burst out into arrogant laughter.

"Hahaha! Hahahaha! Wow, this is hilarious! You really make me laugh. I have lived for endless ages, and yet, I have never seen someone like you, so funny, overestimating your abilities, yet able to hit the nail on the head like this."

Madivh's facial muscles twisted into a grotesque expression, and his eyes turned a fiery red, revealing his evil intentions.

"Yes, that's right! My dear little insects, if you kill the Madivh under my control, the Dark Portal will indeed close as you said... But do you have the courage and ability to do so? Hehehe! Let me tell you, death is not the end. If you're foolish enough to come to Karazhan, be prepared to have your souls tormented by me for eternity."

With the last word spoken, Madivh's holographic projection vanished.

Immediately, the court mage let out a scream. "Adams!?" In Llane's ever-wise and brave eyes, the tragedy unfolding before him was reflected.

The powerful protective spells on the mage's robes were activated, but in the next moment, they shattered, leaving the formerly dignified court mage looking like a beggar.

And this was just the beginning.

As everyone watched in horror, the court mage's two arms twisted and contorted like twisted ropes, making countless circles. The screams of the court mage and the sounds of muscles tearing and bones crushing were clearly audible throughout the conference hall.

As if being kneaded by countless invisible hands, the court mage's limbs were pushed into his body, turning him into a ball of flesh.

But the court mage had not yet lost his life. His internal organs seemed to be protected by a special evil magic.

And it wasn't just the court mage. In the next second, half of the two teams of King's guards in the conference hall suffered the same fate.

They were like pieces of iron attracted by a magnet, drawn to the court mage by an inexplicable force. Dozens of people crowded together, becoming an even larger ball of flesh. Each person seemed to be conscious, uttering all kinds of words.

"Mom! Save me!"

"No... General Lothar, give me a quick death!"

"Kill me! Please kill me!"

This terrifying scene would chill anyone's heart, and even the temperature in the air seemed to drop suddenly.

In the next moment, these victims burst into flames.

The evil azure flames seared their bodies and tormented their souls.

The survivors on the sidelines were drenched in cold sweat as they could clearly see the souls of their comrades and partners, the familiar faces that had accompanied them for countless years, being consumed by the demon's fiery inferno.

Sargeras' shade departed amid laughter.

Time passed second by second...

The vast council chamber was filled with the stench of burnt flesh, echoes of screams, and a lifeless atmosphere, along with the heavy, labored breathing of the survivors who were left.

This was a demonstration by the demon lord Sargeras!

He used his supreme demonic power to show Llane and the others his might and terror.

He was telling Llane to just accept death in despair and agony, because that was the only outcome he had planned for the Kingdom of Stormwind, the entire human world, and the whole world of Azeroth.

Llane's body trembled uncontrollably, and beads of sweat as big as beans rolled down his face. He didn't even know when his crown had fallen to the ground, and he was sitting on the throne, completely exhausted and unable to move a finger.

Lothar quickly came to his senses and was surprised to find that someone was even quicker than him - Duke!

Duke's face was also grim, but the sharp light in his eyes told Lothar that he had already made up his mind.

Lothar and Duke's gazes met in midair.

Heroes always think alike.

If you don't explode in silence, you'll die in silence!

They were not the kind of people to sit and wait for death, so there was only one choice left...

The two of them nodded slightly at the same time and said in unison, "Your Majesty! Please allow us to lead a troop to launch a surprise attack on Karazhan!"
