Chapter 311: Chapter 311: A Cosmic Request

In fact, Jack knew someone was leading him to meet Eternity as soon as the Necrosword sent him the message. And it was clear who that person was: it was Eternity himself.

Although he was still on his honeymoon, Jack was interested in meeting this entity. So, here he was, making a special trip to see why Eternity had brought him here.

Eternity remained as silent as ever, and Jack even began to suspect that he might be mute.

Just as he was about to continue asking questions, an unknown language echoed in Jack's mind.

It was unknown because he had never heard this language before, yet he understood what Eternity wanted to say.

He looked at Eternity because he knew it was him talking.

"You... want me to help?"

Jack furrowed his brow slightly, uncertain as he looked at Eternity.

"Is that what you mean? You want me... to help?"

Eternity gave a small nod to confirm it.

Jack was confused and scratched his head.

"Why are you coming to me? Is there something that even you, as cosmic entities, can't do?"

As soon as he finished speaking, Eternity's voice echoed in his mind once again.

"You can't meddle with the flow of time? Are you kidding me?"

Jack was shocked for a moment, but he quickly understood it and said,

"You don't mean you want me to clean up the sacred timeline, do you? The Multiversal War?"

"Yes!"

Eternity sent him a message in his head again.

"..."

Jack was quiet for a moment as he thought about something with his hand on his chin.

On the other hand, Wanda did nothing. She didn't know what Jack was talking about or that Eternity was talking to him.

But when she heard about the Multiversal War, she caught the attention. Even though Wanda was worried, she kept quiet and just watched.

"I refuse."

After thinking for two minutes, Jack gave his answer.

"Brother, you can't just come looking for me whenever something happens. I'm not your servant. It was the same with the Infinity Ultron, and now it's the same with the Multiversal War. I need my own personal time, you know?"

"And besides, you're Eternity, the physical manifestation of the Multiverse itself. Now you're coming to tell me that you need my help to stop a war from happening in your domain? Do you think I'll buy your weak explanation? Who knows what kind of trouble is waiting for me behind all of this?"

"I don't want to get involved in this matter. I can't do it either. It was nice to see you. Goodbye."

After Jack finished speaking, he was about to leave with Wanda. He felt that coming here today might have been a bit of a mistake.

However, just as he was about to leave, Eternity spoke one more sentence.

That sentence made Jack's footsteps pause for a moment, but he quickly pretended as if nothing had happened and continued to leave.

Until they stepped through the portal to return, Eternity didn't say another word.

And as they left, leaving only Eternity behind, he finally got up slowly from the ground, turned around, and a circular archway appeared behind him, apparently out of nowhere.

Behind the archway was a vast expanse of cosmic stars, but it appeared somewhat crowded at the moment.

There were a lot of strange and scary beings in the sky, and almost all of them were gods who were just as powerful as Odin.

However, at this moment, they were quiet and in order, and no one was talking.

In the middle of the crowd, a big area was cleared out, and a few famous people were talking about something.

The most eye-catching of them was a gigantic figure, golden all over, with three faces separated from its body.

This was none other than the Living Tribunal, a famous entity in the Marvel Universe.

The moment the archway appeared, everyone stopped talking, and their gazes focused on Eternity behind the door. He stepped out of the archway and appeared in the center the next moment.

"Let me guess, you failed, right!"

The person who was talking was wrapped in a big robe that made her look perfect, but when the hood was pulled off, a skull was revealed.

This person was another cosmic entity, Death, who had a short encounter with Jack.

Eternity didn't even want to bother with her, simply looking at the Living Tribunal and sharing the result of their conversation.

The Living Tribunal listened silently, and the face symbolizing justice spoke up.

"He will agree."

With just that sentence, there was nothing more to be said.

But the five cosmic entities, including Eternity, didn't refute it. Not even a hint of doubt.

...

Earth, New Asgard

"What did he say just now?"

Wanda looked at the man beside her with curiosity in her eyes.

Although she had learned some information from Jack's words, she was still curious about what Eternity had said.

"...Nothing."

Jack thought about what to say, but in the end, he didn't say anything.

The truth was, what Eternity had told him was quite important.

He knew about the Multiversal War and had heard about it before. He even helped start it. Sylvie was left at the Citadel at the End of Time, and Jack planned to visit her there after some time.

But that's not the point.

Eternity did mention the chaos in the Multiverse that he and Sylvie caused, but that wasn't the issue he wanted Jack to fix.

Before stating his purpose, Eternity briefly explained the divisions between the universes.

(The following information is a combination of research and my own interpretation. If you've read Marvel comics, don't take them too seriously. Just enjoy the story.)

First, Jack's universe, which is called Earth-199999, is called a Singular Universe because it only has one timeline.

Countless Singular Universes combine to create a Multiversal Universe.

It is known as the Sacred Timeline.

When Sylvie killed Kang, the Sacred Timeline, which had been under Kang's control, split apart. This led to multiple Kangs trying to take control of the Multiversal Universe.

So, the Multiverse War broke out.

At first, Jack thought that Eternity had asked for his help to end this war and make the Multiversal Universe peaceful again.

But he was too naive.

Eternity had no interest in the war within the Multiversal Universe.

What he mentioned was a massive cosmic war happening between the Megaverse Universes.

Megaverse Universes are formed of countless Multiversal Universes, and numerous Megaverse Universes together form the ultimate Omniverse.

As for what lies beyond the Omnipotent Universe, Eternity didn't say because he himself didn't know. To find out, one would have to ask the legendary TOAA (The One Above All).

The situation is both simple and complicated. For some unknown reason, the Megaverse Universes suddenly started fighting each other.

Eternity, along with other cosmic entities, including the Living Tribunal, couldn't understand what went wrong.

It's like the fish that were once kept in a pond suddenly jumped out one day and started fighting with the ocean fish.

Even the powerful Living Tribunal couldn't learn what exactly happened.

But even with all that chaos, Eternity and the Living Tribunal wouldn't have gone to Jack for help. The real reason they decided to approach him was because of one person's appearance.

TOAA.
